He didng have that tendency last year or the year before. It would make sense to consider why its happening this year the way it is.

An OC can call a hame ro help his qb or to hurt him.

To decide which Grubb is for Geno, you need look no further than how he handled playcall balance and hung the online out yo dry by placing them in pass-pro 75% of the time at times with little to mask that Geno wohkd just be dropping back again and again and again.

Or how he consistently calls long developing plays on short distance downs with zero outlet, inviting sacks.

Or how our redzone offense is suspect to say the least.

I seriously do not understand how it isnt more obvious that there is a direct correlation between the ineffectiveness of Grubb's plans and in some cases play designs and the performance of the QB.

Geno is pushing too hard in a system where defenses know whats coming. Wanna call him stubborn for doing so? Sure. But a qb who his stubbornly teying to make lemonade from lemons and forcing errors is FAR DIFFERENT than one who cabt avoid them or isnt smart enough to do so.

Josh allen threw an INT in all but 3 games last year finishing with 18. His OC was proven far more effective than Grubb.. his offense was, really. Why the inordinately high number? Because he was pushing too much, trying to force results that werent there out of frustration.

If an all world talent like Josh Allen can throw INTs like he's getting paid to do so in a system far better than ours, doesnt it make sense that Geno coulf fall into the same trap?
True. Josh Allen had 18 INTs in 2023. He also threw for 29 TDs and was 57.35% comp pct in with 20 TDs and only 1 INT in the redzone. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/redzone-passing.htm. Josh also had 15 rushing TDs in 2023. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02/gamelog/2023/

So far Geno this season Geno has 17 TDs and 15 INTs plus 1 rushing TD. His redzone comp pct is 50% with 10 TDs and 4 INTs. Last season he was even worse with comp pct of 41.79% in the redzone.

And last year he had an OC who is so bad he is no longer in the league.

This year he has an OC who will be fired after one season.

Josh Allen went on a turnover spree because he was forcing the ball after losing weapons.

Geno has been forcing the ball because in a good number of situations, the plays suck.

I dont see how one can debate the impact an OC has on an offense when we have seen it first hand here in the transition betwren Schotty and Waldron, or in Denver between Hackett and Peyton.

SP has a team that was left for dead, in cap pergatory with drained talent, a shaky o line and rookie QB on the verge of the playoffs.

Does anyone honestly think Bo Nix would be remotely near the player he is under Peyton if he played under Grubb?

Coaching matters and two of the most important coaches on the team - OC and O line - are being manned by guys with zero experience who's methods and results have at best been shaky.

Why would you start to assess any other part of the offense before you made sure the guys leading the offense and O line knew what they were doing?

Depsite having 2 blue chip player on our o line, the unit still isnt playing great, and those 2 star players have been made to look like liabilities far too often.

So to recap:

Our star LT looks qurstionable.

Our star RT looks like his backup at times

Then:

Our #1 WR looks like anything but.

Our #1 RB looks like anything but.

Our #1 QB looks like anything but.

We have above average TEs that are grossly underutilized.

Our redzone offense sucks, despite having DK - 6'4, Barner 6'5, Fant (close to the same height), JSN who seems to always get open everywhere else on the field.

The QB who led the league in deep passing percentage in 2022 and was 8th in 2023 isnt even in the top half of the league in passes attempted over 20 yards.

We cant pass protect, yet we insist on making our line do just that at a disproportionate rate.

But its NOT the OC...

Our plays do suck, I can’t tell you how many times it looks like we have wide receivers running to basically the same spot

Allen also had 45 touchdowns last year!

Geno has been decen between the 20’s and we’ve moved the ball well, it’s just in the red zone he’s terrible. If the OV is so bad that he can’t produce a functioning offense why are we fine for most of the field? This alone tells me it’s not all him. If your theory was right we would be terrible all over the field but were not.

I’m not saying Grubb doesn’t need to he better because he does but Geno has now been bad in the red zone with multiple OC’s. It has to be partly him.

The ball he threw against Chicago that should’ve been picked in the red zone was completely Geno. He’s done that multiple times this year.
