Now that we are at the All Star break, I was thinking a closest to the pin thread would be fun to look back on. So.......let's hear everyone's prediction for his TOTAL on the season (not counting post season, of course)

I'm going with 57

I'm going to say 54. I think he ends up slowing down as teams pitch around him and playing catcher wears on him. I'll be pumped if he hits 50 as it would be the first time in history and anything more then that is just icing. Him hitting 60 would be a top 3 Seattle sports memory for me.

I think people tend to forget, or maybe just aren't aware, that we're actually well past half way through the season. They've played 96 games already, and only have 66 games remaining.

I think Cal ends up with right around 60, which would obviously be absolutely phenomenal.

60 would only be 22 more. 68. There will be some games with multiple Homer's. They will pitch to Cal cause his average is 250 or so. And the man behind him is smoking hot. Do you walk Cal when Arentsorena would drive in at least one?

Cal is "on pace" to hit 64. Meaning if he continues to hit HR's at the same rate as he has so far, he'll finish with 64. If he slows down just a little bit, right around 60 seems about right to me.

22 more HR's in the final 66 games would be really good. 30 HR's in the final 66 games would be insane. Not saying it's not possible, but he would have to pick up his already league leading HR rate even more than it was pre all star break. That's a big ask for a guy that plays the most demanding position in baseball, in a league with a 162 game season.

I would love him to break Judge's record, not only because it makes him very hard to ignore for MVP but also I regard it as the "clean" record.

I don't think it will happen though I'll go with 58.

I want him to hit 55. Then he breaks the single season record by a switch hitter and he breaks Yankee's fans hearts because the great Mickey Mantle holds that record.

Back when we first started to discuss this, we were wondering if Cal could break Salvador Perez's record for the most HRs by a catcher in a season, 48. Now, that appears to be a certainty.

Knowing Cal, he's going to focus on winning over HRs, so when you factor that in, in addition to pitchers trying to pitch around him, I think the second half of the season is going to be a lot tougher. So I think he'll end up around 55, which will still be a very impressive number.

Note: Cal hit 16 HRs after the All-Star break last year, according to Google AI.

If he played in Yankee stadium with the short RF, no question he breaks
the record.
I hate that he had to do HR derby, there is always a falloff to anyone doing
it because you're not resting that week between that and playing.
I think he hits in the 50s which is great!
