Why would the league deliberately pay to have a report falsely defame one of its most popular players and the team that just won its championship? This "frame up" argument that Brady's agent and NE fans are relying doesn't make any sense. The league is only damaged by these findings. The NFL has no incentive whatsoever to make Brady or the Patriots look bad on purpose.

Exactly, especially with the Patriots playing opening night. No way the NFL wants this to be the story that kicks the season off.

Unless the league wants to embarrass the Patriots so bad they knock this crap off that they purposefully put them on opening night so everyone shames them even more.

But that's not plausible either, cause Bill Belichick has no soul. He cannot be embarrassed, shamed, he can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And he absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

Sorry to hear you are feeling the pain of the SB loss. Just remember at least you can cheer for Goodell and team NFL as they try to frame the greatest QB that has ever lived. Tom is gonna rip them a new one when the suspension/fine is handed out. This report is full of so many holes it is laughable.

Also, it is a disgrace to see folks believe these reports that the league pays for, especially after the lies that they expected us to swallow in the Ray Rice case. Come on, set aside your hate for a second and see the flimsiness of this report. I get it, the Patriots took away your dreams on a last second history making interception, I would hate them too if I were you guys. But this report is garbage. The evidence they put out there for weather deflating balls during the game is within the range one would expect on the day in question. I don't even see what the problem is that people see. Just read the report. The texts are not even that bad in context when you look at the dates of them.

Do you seriously think that the NFL wanted for the cheating to true/real ?

This is another HUGE black eye for the NFL, and the last thing they needed.
Already so much bad PR out there.
Remember this is not a court of law but if I'm not mistaken, the amount of proof that was found, meets the standard for civil case.
This is not about the Seahawks and SB49 except that the Patriots probably wouldn't have been there if they hadn't been cheating.

We are very tolerant of opposing fans here but don't think for a minute that you will be accepted well, by coming in and talking BS about the NFL trying to frame the greatest QB in history.
You are welcome to have and post your opinion but don't come in here stirring up crap with statements as absurd as that. You will only be viewed as a troll.
Re read your post and tell me it doesn't fit the definition.
Take this as a warning to tread lightly.

EDIT:
If you want to talk smack, we have a place for that and you will have a much longer leash in there.

I've been seeing the same exact thing from Pats fans on non-NFL boards and in my day-to-day personal conversations.

It is insane the way they view this as if the grass is actually pink and we all just think it's green.

I have to wonder how motivated the NFL is to come out with some form of punishment quickly to prevent escalation, like the report on differing fumble ratios and other testimony about underinflated balls in NE for the last few years (players convinced he's done it before, previous complaints of the same issue, etc).

If they throw out a quick punishment, they probably think they can close the book and move on without having to deal with how long this has most likely been going on, what it might have effected, etc.

Looking at a history of no integrity - spygate, underinflated balls (ballgate? - don't get them slammed in that!), potential violations in 're-acquiring' Blount...

Should be a year for Bellicheck and Brady, and they apply for reinstatement, but that won't happen. Neither will any ban from the hall or effect on Brady's records. NE should lose draft pics, but that also will not happen.

You could make a case of vacating championships, but the NFL will NEVER do that, as it would link Superbowl and playoff history to a cheating scandal forever - so the Colts are out of luck on that front. But their complaint was shown to be legitimate.

Of course, a Brady suspension takes the most likely threat to the Colts making the big show next year down a few notches.

I'd love to see some enterprising lawyer sue Brady, NE, and the NFL on behalf of all the casinos whose books were effected by this fraud. Class Action Lawsuits tend to get the attention of large organizations who have forgotten about integrity in their product.

As a Seahawk fan this means nothing to me - it didn't effect the Superbowl at all (although I am sure some other fans may say NE might not have been the AFC in the game...) - that game was won by NE on an outstanding, aggressive defensive play on the ball at the goal line - but as an NFL fan this seriously pisses me off.

Woot! Brady ***WILL*** be suspended! Won't know for how long until next week.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/footb ... -1.2215881

Excellent. As long as it is a year or 8 games.
If they release the suspension today, I say 8 games. Next week, 3 or 4 games. It gives them a weekend to soften the response.

His agent was on Sirius today. He talked a lot, didn't say shit. He won't really address specifics, he can't, they will be proven to be lies, so pretty much he just bitched about the way the league handled everything.

He also repeatedly said that if it had been "football people" investigating, things would be different. Which is code for everybody does a little gamesmanship, why punish poor Tom?

""""There actually was a case about 2000 years ago that has a lot of parallels to Framegate (though of much greater significance)
- Upstart player who achieved unexpected success
- Jealous competitors who brought trumped up charges against him to the authorities
- Sham trial that roused the mob mentality of the masses
- Only the followers of the accused tried to defend him
- Over the top punishment given to please the mob

And with punishment being given out by Vincent, I expect Goodell to claim he "washes his hand" regarding the outcome"""

LOL Saw this quote on the Pats board relating Brady's situation to none other than Jesus. It had me laughing so hard.... The entertainment and delusion is running wild...

I hope that article is correct and he does get suspended but I think it has to be more than 2 games. He cheated, lied and thumbed his nose at the investigation. He should get at least 4 games for not cooperating or Roger is setting a precedent that players don't have to fully cooperate with investigators. I don't think Rodger wants those kind of problems. Can you imagine how the Dolphin bullying investigation would have gone if players didn't cooperate??

I will always view the the Patriots (mostly Bill and Tom) as cheaters. They are always doing something questionable and their fans defend them even when it doesn't make good sense. Tedy Bruschi on NFL Live today is a good example. He was going so hard for Brady. Saying that he (Tedy) doesn't accept the report and 'his friend would never tell anyone to do anything illegal or lie' He was so frustrated that Damien Woody believes Tom did it. He should call Aaron Rodgers and talk to him about going out a limb for a friend. :141847_bnono:

I don't know if I speak for every Seahawk fan but I think I'm speaking for most when I say that bitterness has little to do with it. Compared to the hate we felt for the Steelers for the screwjob in XL, our antipathy for New England doesn't even compare. Most Seahawks fans see XLIX as a game our team choked away. The Pats benefited from that choke job, but hating them is secondary to being frustrated with ourselves.

In fact, most of us still have a lot of respect for Belichick as a coach and Brady as a QB. As people, maybe not so much, but as competitors we by and large respect their excellence, even now.

Seahawks fans, along with 30 other fanbases, are pretty damn annoyed by Pats fans though. They have proven themselves to be the most insular and least objective fans in all of sports. Hearing these delusional posts like yours over and over and over bothers me more than the Patriots unending quest to circumvent the rules.

You may not have noticed, but by my count there are fans of at least three different NFL franchises in this thread that all want to see Brady get the hammer. It's not like it's just 'bitter' Seahawks fans.

Pats fans should just own up to it and move on already. It's starting to get sad.

I've come to discover that being a Pats fan is like being a faithful member of a religion. You can justify anything you want with the power of belief. Just keep on with "They hate us 'cause they ain't us!", Patriots faithful!

Very good comp...

To me it looks like a person married to a political party, their side can do no wrong and it's always the other guy's fault even if there is evidence to the contrary.

The amount of PSI the report says the Patriots may have deflated the balls (according to the report) is between .2 and .3 PSI. This is approximately the amount of air that escapes when one checks the pressure of the football with a gauge. . And it only was that far below in 3 or 4 of the balls.

Can we agree that this whole Deflategate thing is just stupid and talk about a Pats/Seahawks rematch instead.

You do have to admit though, that there is some truth to it. Doesn't everyone want to be a successful franchise year after year. And when one team is continuously put on MNF and SNF and talked about as if they are the best thing since sliced bread, it gets freakin' old. Of course, unless it is your favorite team and then one bathes in it and rides the wave as long as it lasts, because eventually the wave crashes and a new team moves in to the top spot so you might as well enjoy it.

Your golden boy got caught cheating, and will now face suspension, so no, it's not stupid. He cheated, lied about it, covered it up, and will pay the price!

Oh and..... your team wasn't getting back even before the inevitable Brady suspension.....

What specifically have you read that shows he was cheating? I am not sure how you can decisively type what you did. The evidence is not very convincing. Examples?

I wouldn't bet any money on that if I were you. You'd have a better chance of Donkospurts being accepted as a member of the NAACP, than this guy admitting Tawwwmmy cheated his ass off.

He had the pats equipment managers deflate footballs. Read the report, read the texts between the two equipment managers, Tawmy covered it up, and didn't cooperate with the investigation....... But then again, your mind is made up and you will be the most shocked person in this forum when Tawnmmy gets suspended.
