Both Cross and Lucas playing fantastic!!!

Both tackles are just playing great now and I have to say I am particularly shocked that Lucas is not only playing great but actually even playing. I saw him at the end of last year and he was walking with a noticeable limp and just thought this was a long-term injury that he couldn’t come back from. Cross and Lucas were two key draft selections that helped this team turn the corner.

I feel like these edge players for the Texans really challenged Cross and Lucas.

Cross and Lucas still need to work on their weaknesses.

The film still shows point of concerns for our tackles. The bull rushes I think are primarily the main weakness of Cross and Lucas. Teams with really good, quick and strong edge and defensive ends can collapse our outside pocket. If you watch Darnold he expects the outside to be fully supported and the sacks he took are the results of really good edges winning one on ones against our tackles. I think Cross and Lucas, can add additional strength and leverage to these bull rushes and Seattle will improve even more so down the stretch. Still have good edge players that will further challenge our tackles.

I hope Cross and Lucas see this and take a real attempt to improve protection in this area.
