Why in the world would he hold out for a 5 year that only averages $20 million when he's already scheduled to make almost $18 million on his current deal? I seriously doubt he's holding out for a 10% raise

Make that 5 yrs 150 million and it might be a starting number.
bet it’s more, guessing $35 mill per season.
that’s lol money for a position that only plays 75% of the time and never scores.
is what it is.

Bosa will become the highest paid defensive player. Aaron Donald gets $31.7 million, so there's your starting point.

$35 million per year is pretty steep, especially when you're already got Deebo with a cap hit of $28 million next year, Trent Williams at $28 million, Arik Armstead at $25 million, CMC at $14 million, Fred Warner $24 million, and George Kittle $19.4 million in 2024, Charvarious Ward $17.9, and Javon Hargrave at $15.5. Even Brandon Aiyuk has a cap hit of $14 million in 2024.

I think the 49ers are already over the cap for 2024 without taking Bosa into account. Shades of the 2021 Rams?
