Best pass of the Card's game by Wilson IMHO

So I rewatched the game last night and one pass (there were many) of RW's that stood out to me above the rest. We're in the RZ and Wilson throws a perfectly placed ball in between several Card's players into the gut of Tate. Unfortunately, the Card's LB made a great play on the ball and stuck his hand in there knocking the ball out. The placement and touch on that throw was incredible though. I'll try to grab a shot of it off my DVR when I have time

How has that not been discussed yet? I forgot about it, myself.

The MOST interesting thing to me was how reckless that throw was. It flew in the face of all the arguments we hear about Wilson protecting the ball AT ALL COSTS and never putting it in a place where anyone but his intended receiver can even have a chance at it. There were three AZ defenders that had as good a shot at making a play on that ball as Tate. Highly unusual throw for RW>

All that said , it was an INCREDIBLE throw for getting it in a (window-nope) (door-nope) keyhole sized area where Tate could try to make a play vs three defenders.

And, for Tate's part it was incredible that he almost pulled it in, given that he was covered so closely and I am not sure he even saw the ball for much of its flight nor when he got his hands on it.

It was a pretty dangerous pass imo, and it was very close to getting picked off. Would've been amazing if Tate caught it and he was also very close, but it was still quite dangerous with like 3 or 4 defenders near the area.

That's what made it so incredible. He fit it into such a tight window that gave Tate the best shot of getting it

Was that the one where the commentator said "that's not a window it's a porthole"?

The best pass imo was the TD pass to Miller. He put incredible touch and loft on that ball which is not easy to do straight down the middle of the field. Much easier to put that touch on the ball when throwing it out wide.

I love that one, too. Of course the other throws were sweet, too.

There were all kinds of amazing RW throws in this game.

Risky throw I guess but one focus of this game was supposed to be TD's in the red zone, not settling for field goals. So i can't blame them wanting to get six.

I could go for a slightly larger serving of this kind of 'risky'. Especially with receivers like Rice and Tate. Occasionally letting your receivers make plays on the ball is a good thing, imo.

I think it was by far the ballsiest. He looked at the defenders like sexy rex would have and said 'I can throw it harder then you could ever imagine' and to Russ's credit, he almost sawed the guy's arm off to get it to Golden.

The 3rd down conversion to Miller (where Russel got the throw off just before his knees hit the ground) blew me way.

Flew in the face of the arguments? That's called the exception that proves the general rule exists. You noticing it highlights its rarity.

It's abundantly clear that Wilson heard a lot of the criticism about being "jittery" and scrambling "too much". He demonstrated he could complete more passes in this game by standing strong in the pocket. The price of course was two fumbles deep in our own territory because we don't have a pocket worth trusting. We can't have it all. Wilson can't stand in the pocket all day behind this pass protection and make big plays down field and few INTs and few fumbles and few sacks. No quarterback could. Until the pass protection improves to league average or so, something's always gotta give.

That's the point. Thus a sentence 2 lines down that reads: "Highly unusual throw for RW." :th2thumbs:

THIS.
That pass had me asking my wife ,"Are You Frikkin Kidding Me", followed up with a Did I really see what just happened?
Even Washington (#58) after having made the tackle, held his hands out like what the hell else does a guy have to do to thwart this guy?

RW rarely throws even into double coverage. That's the first time I remember him throwing into triple, excepting the Fail Mary. He's probably done it once in a while, but rarely enough to where I can't remember.

Starting to wonder whether the team's issues in the red zone have more to do with Wilson's willingness to throw into tight spaces. Last night he certainly looked free and hot.

Probably more to do with Pete's stressing of limiting turnovers.
