Hate this signing. Wait too much money and length. Decent teams like the pats let him walk and take the 3rd end comp pick.

...who then busts.

I'm sincerely glad to hear it, he is one of the most important members of our team. I saw someone comment he would be whining before years end, about his deal and I don't know what the thinking process was behind that statement. Bennett should have been getting paid a lot more than he has for the past couple of years, but has handled it like he actually gives a damn about the team, and the other members by waiting patiently for his re-up to roll around.

We have had other players threaten to hold out, and who have held out, before they were due up for a new contract, trying to get a bigger slice of the pie before it was their time, and I don't much care for that sort of manipulative approach, it might get you your extra money if you they are all that, but it always causes hard feelings, no matter how much others say i't's just business, they know that that player is will willing to sacrifice the future of the entire team by setting out and letting our opponents capitalize on their absence from the game.

I know everyone wants to get paid, and needs to get paid a decent salary, but I am still naïve enough to think that some players are still out there for the love of the game and that the pay is secondary to that. I am not stunned when a players greed overtakes their dedication to their team, but I have been disappointed by more than a few over the years.

I think that Bennett has been very patient with the Seahawks, and has given the opportunity to do right by him, and now it appears that they have. My guess is that Michael will finish his career with Seattle, when that time comes and will be one of those players that is forever linked in time and history to the Seahawks.

$33 million. Nice. Boy got paid!
And he deserves it. Hope to see him wrap up a great career with the Hawks.
