I agree with everybody on here, but the reality is they have to fix that O-line. Coach Mikes defense is extremely complicated and is gonna take time to master it. Defense wasn't the problem today or any other week, it's the O-line. Everyone on here thought as soon as Mike was hired we were gonna have that Ravens defense, including me. The truth is, we will, over time. I think we'd be almost there if we had a better O-line in tact. We can't run the ball because the O-line is getting pushed around and Geno is running for his life and getting sacked. They need to trade some players for some better quality O-linemen. Stats don't lie, our O-line is what 29th, 30th in the league right now, that's pretty bad. No QB in world would do any better.

We finally get a few guys back to face a bad team that had travel across country. We are actually worse off with them. Argh!

Growing pains, with a completely revised coaching staff and short on trench impact players. Another year, with experience and cohesion, and hopefully a solid draft, then we'll be ready to start shining.
I was gonna say ready to comPete, but I'm not gonna go there.

That, and we really miss Mafe.
One of those growing pains is failing when you choose to go for it on fourth down inside your own 30. Terrible call and one that should not be repeated.

Yes. I almost think that was bravado, which I didnt like seeing. Made no sense. I don't want to see that crap again until we have earned that position.

Edit: Or he did that intentionally to push some buttons elsewhere.

I don't take solace in another team's loss. This was our opportunity to put some distance between us and a slumping Niners, and we choked it away in nearly every facet of the game.

I agree completely with this.

This team is too talented to get embarrassed at home like this. They gave up five 50+ yard scoring drives to Daniel Jones. They got extremely lucky on another turnover. This was awful.

Here I'd just like to add that it was Daniel Jones without the team's leading rusher this season and without the team's best offensive player (and second-best player overall, behind Dexter Lawrence), who is also the team's leading receiver.

And even worse, it wasn't some fluke plays or something. The defense looked just plain bad all day. Even established players who had played well last year and/or earlier this year looked awful. Anyone attempting to cover Slayton was simply Slayton's little bitch all day. Slayton is not a bad player, but he shouldn't so utterly dominate an entire NFL secondary like he did yesterday. If anything, the Seahawks got lucky they weren't playing a better offense, or the game could have been a three-score blowout, even without the blocked-FG-return touchdown.

I've noticed a trend around here of more and more people speaking ill of Pete Carroll (some even tried to blame him for yesterday, which is just silly) and holding up Macdonald as if he were a lock for Coach of the Year this year. Well, Macdonald is responsible for the worst defense I've seen on the field for the Seahawks in a good long time. For two weeks in a row now, even players like Witherspoon have been failing to bring down ball carriers. There was one play when it really looked like Woolen thought they were playing two-hand touch.

This team can't tackle. The magical scheme with all the disguising and "modernity" isn't fooling even Daniel Jones or stopping even the weakened-further-by-injury 2024 Giants offense (again, missing its two best playmakers!). The Seahawks defense looks just plain bad at this moment.

Does that mean Macdonald is a bust, especially given that he's the one responsible for calling the defensive alignments and coverages? Of course not. It just means he is a first-time head coach, and that there will be growing pains. Macdonald may or may not still become a good head coach. His defensive schemes and coaching methods may or may not work for the Seahawks in 2024. It will be interesting to see how the team improves starting with the first game after the "mini-bye" that comes after Thursday's game. I'm not expecting miracles in the second short-week turnaround in a row, so the 49ers may well run roughshod over the Seahawks on Thursday. But it will be interesting to see how the Seahawks look over the three or four games after that one.

Oh, and don't think I'm letting the offense off the hook. The offense looked pretty bad all day yesterday too. But I'm still a lot less worried about the offense, despite the fact that the offensive line is truly awful, especially the interior line.

Yeah I hope the loose every game and bring Pete Carrol back and fire john schneider. O line has been ass since 2013. Was decent in 2022 have a lot of talent on defensive back field but need more pass rush. Probably need to trade Jsn or dk to get a good lineman. Team doesn't feel balanced. Not watching another Game this year

You post one time to announce you're not watching another game this year? OK...

You didn't miss much, brother. Just the Hawks being pushed around on both sides of the ball all day long. Blatant refusal to run the ball, even though the o line was getting owned in pass blocking. Horrific play calling.

I'm pissed .Like many on here at .NET

Having said that , I still have belief in this team and this coach. I don't have the answers nor should I .im just one of many fans .

Here's to kicking the ever loving shit out of Santa Clara.

I hate that team.

Go Hawks
How many staters will be injured and inactive for the 49ers game? My son is a big 49ers fan, so I root for them EXCEPT when they play the Seahawks or Bears.

I think it's fair to have some perspective here. I've seen multiple posts on here that this is like, we're the worst team in the NFL after this loss. From that, I can just assume none of those people subjected themselves to any of the Cleveland/Washington game today.

Josh Allen just played a defense that was ranked in the 20s coming into this week... and went 9 for 30 and less than 150 yards.

Green Bay, who is supposed to be one of the top teams in the NFC, just snuck a victory from the 31st ranked defense Los Angeles Rams.

Vikings, who are my pick as the 'favorite' to win the Super Bowl at this stage of the season, picked off Aaron Rodgers 3 times and still almost lost the game. (They absolutely needed that third one to seal it.)

Teams do better than you expect randomly, and some teams fall apart in inexplicable moments all the time. It's ok to recognize that we are still leading our division even if we have had a bad couple of games.
Too much logic in this post.

Great post! It’s hard to win in the NFL. I think matchups are heavily overlooked…

Example - it’s no secret our O-line isn’t our strongest unit. It can be argued that NY has a top 15 line (may be closer to 18). Now, that’s not the strongest statement I can come up with but, in this particular game, they dominated us up front.

The other statement is that our run stopping ability without Murphy in there is absolute poo. Big Cat facing double teams without his rookie accomplice is a sight for sore eyes.

Definitely a game we shouldn’t have lost but a bottom of the barrel NFL team would trounce an Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, etc by 75+.

It’s truly “any given Sunday”…
