Fans are the most fickle bunch. If your team is riding a 4-game win streak, the defense is looking like the start of something special, the OL finally puts in their best performance of the year, understandably we are riding the dopamine that comes with that. Life is good, smiles all around, hell even .NET members are generally more affable towards one another.
Then something happens like being blown out on national television at home against one of the upper tier opponents like the Packers and it's back to calling out the coaches and players, who should be fired with the obligatory FIRE SALE! EVERYONE MUST GO!
Truth is, and it's an old sports cliché but certainly a valid one; "Your team is never as bad as you think nor as good as you think."
It's almost always somewhere in the middle (for middling teams).
So here we are, going into our next game with another upper tier opponent coming into Lumen Field. A place which has completely lost that home field advantage and an influx of opposing team fans pretty much dominating the decibels. As Tyler Lockett said after the loss (to paraphrase, I can't find the exact quote) when questioned about the amount of Packers fans in attendance: "It's up to us as a team to perform better to give our fans something to cheer about."
It was like having a cold bucket of water poured on you in bed while in the midst of a happy dream.
We are staring down the bucket of another splash of cold water this Sunday against the 12-2 Vikings. Is it possible the Seahawks could have an impressive turn around? Of course it is. Likely? Nope. The Seahawks are building something special under Mike, I truly believe that, but last week's game - and likely this Sunday's game - will end up being Exhibit A as to why the team is just not at that level - yet.
Aros' Fearless Prediction: Seahawks 17 - Vikings 30
Aros' Fearless Record: 10-4
