My oh my.

My girl got cranky with me today because I couldn’t appreciate the dominance. I was worried they would come back in the second half and they did score some points. I can’t seem to enjoy the ride. I go hide until the game is over and then I can relax. Call it self preservation. Blood pressure management and all.

Clearly we are one of, if not the best team in the NFL right now but I am NOT a fan of taking our foot off the gas in the second half. This is twice now in the last two games we relax in the second half allowing the opponent to get some confidence even if the game still really isn’t in doubt.

We scored 38 points in the first half. AMAZING! Yet just 6 in the second half. I know I shouldn’t be so critical of a team that is clearly one of the best in the league but can we keep the foot on the gas in the second half for once?

Still, holy hell. We are a great team.

We are Seahawks fans, I agree I always want to hold the edge you have when up on teams, long timers here remember games when up comfortably and then a mistake or a turnover happens and all of a sudden you looking at a battle in the last two minutes to win. Pete did that time and time again, Holmgren got pissed if we let up.

Just keep the gas pedal pressed! I’m still pissed we allowed them 22 points! That messes up our defensive rankings. This is the nonsense I am annoyed with right now.

Talk about rich people problems.

We are built from the same stuff my friend. It's hard to relax even when we're winning. I am miserable to it says Final. It shouldn't bother me but giving up points makes us look weak in my opinion and my OCDs get the better of me.

LFG! This team is beyond legit, and still isn’t full strength. Today was the time to get get running game going, next week is for the conquering of the Rams.
Also, has that 2x sack fumble by EXACT SAME PEOPLE ever happened?

Having a blast. They are 7-2 and winning games handily. Garbage time stuff doesn't change the fact that there was zero shot of them losing. When a team is up by 35, they're naturally going to let up a little. Do people expect another 30 plus in the second half? It's just not realistic.

Also, there were several back up guys playing in the 2nd half. Especially the 4th quarter. 7-2. Again, 7-2. Doesn't have to look a certain way, imo. Shoot, last week they gave up 7 points in each half. I don't know man, that's pretty damn good.

You are saying exactly how I feel. I want to just feel pumped after the 35-0. The rest of the game resembled air being let out of the balloon.

For some people, and that's cool. This team is legit. Period. I get the frustrations, to a point. I was laughing when it was 35-0. Yeah, I'm having fun 😅
Choices. Choose to enjoy the ride. ✌️

I think MM wanted to run and eat time in the second half. I sure wish they would have got JSN his 100 yards.

That. Was. Awesome!

I’m having so much fun. I love that, as I posted in another thread, we are talking about “cleaning up a few things” as a way of turning a big win into a historically big win, rather than turning a loss into a win.

The biggest blown leads in NFL history was 33 points. The second and third are 28 points. Once we were up by 35, there was no chance.

I’m thankful for the full-contact practice time we got. It showed us a few things we need to work on, and it let us try out some things in the running game.

He absolutely did. And those two long drives that ended in FG's, every single play but one was a pass play. Running out the clock is kind of what most teams would do with a huge lead. And again, the Hawks game up 7 total points in the 2nd half against Washington. It's not like they were getting gashed.
Track makes a good point. Cleaning up a few things, when you're blowing teams out in back-to-back weeks, is a pretty cool problem to have. This team absolutely has not hit their peak, imo. I suspect after calling pass plays, deep in their own end zone, resulting in turnovers..........Coach Mike put the stop to that sh**. It was pretty obvious. And I was bitching about it while it was happening. It's natural to be pissed off about dumb play calling. But man has this been a fun season.

I'm not sure what you mean about taking your foot off the gas pedal, AROS? Are you saying that we should be winging the ball around the yard when we're up HUGE? No, you should definitely go to a more conservative offense, grind the clock down, and by all means try not to turn the ball over, especially giving the other team a short field to work with. A punts okay.

Do you mean take our foot off the gas pedal on defense? It was our offense that gave them short fields to work with a couple of times. This was also an opportunity to give bench players some playing time. You never know when injuries will occur. Also, the Cards offense isn't completely inept. They have a great tight end who almost single-handedly kept a few of their drives alive. That happens. There are good players on both teams and sometimes those good players beat you.

We turned the ball over three times in our own territory. That was the biggest problem.

I just don't get the "foot off the gas pedal" narrative.

A post from another thread:

For the second game in a row, the 2d half became a game of giving backups playing time and working on stuff that needed work, especially the running game. Last week we got 3 and outs, which was annoying. This week we engineered a rather sparkling scoring drive that kind of iced things by adding the score and by eating up several valuable minutes of game time. Similar situation, different outcome, at least in part because we practiced it in real time last week.

Coaches have to think the long game, even if it pisses off some easily irritated fans
