Like every team but one, we aren't until we are. But it certainly is technically possible. Realistically however, we're probably at least a few years away, if/after we draft or otherwise acquire our qbotf, unless Howell catches fire and ends up being it. And yes, Geno would have to play out of his mind and reverse the clock. Possible, but not likely.

Lots of unknowns. Good defensive play will certainly help shore up whatever shortcomings we have on offense in the short term.

At the very least, we will be competitive and it should be great entertainment.

I don't think that Uchenna Nwosu's injury and absence last year can be underestimated - so I think that his return as well as new additions and the development of Derek Hall will lead to a much improved defense.
I think scheme as well will play a huge part. Our defence was so easy to read last year

I like the optimism. But I'd be happy if we finished in second place in our division and got into the playoffs as a WC team. Most football people and Vegas have the 9ers and the Rams ahead of us in our division. Do we know something they don't?

You could literally have EVERYTHING going for you before a season starts such as the momentum of just having won the SB, retaining pretty much that entire team that is still young (and still getting better) and having it not result in a Superbowl Win in one play....do I need to spell this one out more?

This team has a first year HC (who is yet to coach this team in ONE regular season game), one that still has questions at QB, still has its star WR go from a contributor to a liability if the game is not going his way, a team that had still had a lot of gaps last year, oh and in a division featuring a team that his still mostly intact that just returned from the SB (with a loss, and probably still hungry). On top of everything else that goes on in a year such as random injuries to key players. No I don't think this team is capable of being a championship team this year.

I hate sounding negative, i'm just being realistic. I am very optimistic this team can be a championship team, but I think it's gonna take a few seasons. And honestly...if a team can go from missing the playoffs to winning a championship just by changing the HC and a few players in one year only. That would seriously just devalue what an NFL championship is and what it takes to get one. Because then you would have a fire sale of HCs every year, and teams just buying their championships with big market players in the offseason. I don't have any interest in watching that sport.

Or just lost the NFC championship twice , retaining the same team and lose in overtime. It's not easy to win a superbowl. You still have to be better than the AFC team and the AFC has a lot of really good teams that could win it all.

It's cyclical. NFC was the better conference when we were contending barring the Patriots and for a few years the Broncos.

AFC has the best young QBs but the NFC teams will be in line to draft the next ones.

This is the chiefs era but eventually it will end. Either with injuries, retirements or bad drafting.

We did it twice with Russ....Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson also did the same.
Yes, but Russ was elite then. Dilfer and Johnson did it a lot longer ago and the NFL is different than what it was 20 years ago.

The football is the same size, field the same length and width, players change based on trends, coaching styles change based on whats successful and then copied till the next time. Rules change sure, but that applies to both sides. Old school football players would thrive in this environment today against each other. And would not complain about having to practice.

I don't see the depth on our O-line LT, LG, & RT backups all need serious upgrades.

None of them won a Super Bowl though. That’s a different beast. No doubt a great season is possible, but has a first year coach ever won it ? Usually takes a few years of building
I'm SHOCKED you don't know the answer to this. :)

George Seifert won a Super Bowl his first year. Of course he had the team that Bill Walsh built.

I didn't realize there is one other coach who has done it, Don McCafferty (who?!?) with the Baltimore Colts in 1971.

It's 2024, men can get pregnant, anything is possible
No, men certainly cannot get pregnant.

While the Seahawks winning the SB is statistically possible, any of the 32 teams can win it, it's so incredibly unlikely it's not really even worth entertaining the idea...

Geno 2024 is better than Trent Dilfer 2000 who won a Super Bowl with the Ravens. Place that $1000 bet on the Hawks now...

"In (Dilfer) going 11-1 as the starting quarterback -- including 11 straight wins -- he was considered the perfect complement to Baltimore's historic defense by producing few turnovers and timely big plays, which included a 38-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Stokley in the Super Bowl.

But Dilfer completed only 47.9% of his passes in the postseason and heard the criticism that he was the worst quarterback to play in a Super Bowl. He estimated that he played at 65% to 70% because he was coming off a shoulder injury from the previous season and was dealing with osteitis pubis, an inflammation around the pubic bone and hip flexor muscle."

Even if you buy Geno being better than Dilfer, you conveniently ignore one important piece... Baltimores HISTORIC defense. Not just good. But historic, as in record breaking, history setting, defense. Hawks are nowhere near that level of D. Apples to oranges...
