Geno.

There that way we don’t get 1000000 pages of everyone saying it lol because the board has definitely made sure to bring it up. lol

Absolutely not. But they will be pretty good, imo. A lot of work and development will need to happen before they are contenders, imo.
Next year though? I think so.
And to bring on more freaking out from many, not with Geno as the QB. It's an opinion, not saying it's fact.

It's certainly possible. We've seen a lot of rookie head coaches come in and win right away. Kevin O'Connell with the Vikings went 13-4 in his first year (the team was 8-9 the year before), Matt LaFleur wen 13-3 with the Packers his first year (6-9-1 the previous year), Sean McVay went 11-5 with the Rams (4-12 the year before) and DeMeco Ryans went 10-7 in his first year with the Texans (3-13-1 the previous year). Not to mention Mike McDaniel with the Dolphins.

Edited to add: I forgot about Nick Siriani. He took over a 4-11-1 team and went to the playoffs his first year and then went to the Super Bowl in his second.

All these guys had to turn around a losing team, whereas Macdonald is taking over a team that went 9-8 the last two seasons.

So all this is to say that it's possible, and sometimes a change at the top can be a real shot in the arm.

Stranger things have happened and we have a better shot than some teams that's for sure. It would have to be one of those immaculate dream seasons where literally the ball bounces our way, no real injuries, the team perfectly coalesces to the coaching and new schemes, no playing down to inferior opponents, ball to the wall mentality from start to finish, etc, etc, etc.

What's most likely is there will be growing pains, injuries, set backs as that tends to be the norm for most teams. However, if the team maximizes their talent/depth, with a year of growth under Mike, I don't see any reason at all why we can't be considered true contenders as soon as next year.

I think it's pretty imperative to remind those of us who forget:

It's not just about being a good team. Things have to go right for a team about 30-40% of the time (give or take) all the way to the actual end of the Superbowl to be crowned champions. Yeah, it helps having a stacked roster and great coaching, good discipline, etc...But at the end of the day, if the whole team isn't clicking and lady luck isn't on your side, chances are you won't be champions.

Geno just isn't consistent enough.

We're under a new coach and system, and with less pressure from a bad defense, so we'll see. But Geno's problems were his own.

DANG if he didn't have a couple of niiiiice clutch wins in there, though. I do like him.

I think this is accurate. I like Geno I think he is about 15th in the league. Can you win it all with that guy? yes, but you will need luck and a top 3 defense.

The OL and DL are not good enough to win it. Both lines are getting better but aren't there yet. Geno is also a gap filler until the new coach can fix the issues. We aren't winning a SB with Geno.

For me I'm just going to hate of SF for this year and see where we are at this time next year.

I thought it was "marker my words"
Yes, just get out your Sharpie and marker your words on the white board, or better yet, on the projector screen, so your words will never be forgotten!

Decades ago, I actually had a co-worker marker up the projector screen image when he got excited and was trying to make a point. He never lived that down. Then I had a co-worker who was leading a large walking group and got distracted and walked face first into a parking meter and got a black eye. She never lived that down either. Got into a fight with the parking meter and lost. Word is that the parking meter failed the gender testing so it wasn't really a fair fight.

If MikeMac can learn to cry like Dick Vermeil, bet on it! After that, all we need is Kurt Warner II and the Lombardi will be ours. Book it!
P.S. K9 can stand in for Marshall Faulk if we use him more in the passing game.

No. I think they need another good draft. Maybe controversial to say but I also think Geno has a ceiling. Especially if he gets pressure on him. Feel like our ceiling this year is similar to detroit last year.

Geno 2024 is better than Trent Dilfer 2000 who won a Super Bowl with the Ravens. Place that $1000 bet on the Hawks now...

"In (Dilfer) going 11-1 as the starting quarterback -- including 11 straight wins -- he was considered the perfect complement to Baltimore's historic defense by producing few turnovers and timely big plays, which included a 38-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Stokley in the Super Bowl.

But Dilfer completed only 47.9% of his passes in the postseason and heard the criticism that he was the worst quarterback to play in a Super Bowl. He estimated that he played at 65% to 70% because he was coming off a shoulder injury from the previous season and was dealing with osteitis pubis, an inflammation around the pubic bone and hip flexor muscle."

Nice call! Geno has outdueled Goff the last two times the teams met. The Seahawks COULD have a higher ceiling than 2023 Lions if the 2024 Seahawks defense performs better (in the playoffs) than the 2023 Lions defense. IF the Seahawks defense can stop the 49ers offense when it matters.

Have a feeling it will be similar but with us having a great dline vs detroits great o line. Geno and Goff remind me a little of each other. Both are capable of great games but seem to struggle a bit when pressured which last year for the hawks was often. I think Grubb will cover a lot for that with scheming like Detroit did for Goff.
