I've been thinking about this. Are the 3-0 Seahawks for real?

I've been skeptical.. new coaching staff, new systems both offensively and defensively. I was of the opinion of ,"prove it" then I will believe.

That being said;

They have not played elite competition yet. But , the communication between players and coaches seems to be good, the players seem to respond to the coach's and the schemes.

The players seems to be disciplined on the field except for a lot of penelties which could be being comfotable in the new scheme at least offensively.

Grubb seems to have a nice feel for the NFL and that was a concern for me I think that is not a concern for me any more.

MaDonald seems to have good command of the head coaching job so far and has proven to me that he belongs in the head coaching job.

The coaching staff seems to be performing up to expectation looking at the success both offensively and defensively.

#6 defensively is beyond expectation for me anyway...but considering the competition they have played Miami with a third string QB and Denver with a rookie QB. but who knows, there is no reason they can't keep it going but I expect that as the completion gets harder that ranking will drop. But ya know maybe they will keep it in the top ten.

That D line is brutal and they can blitz from any where on the field, and I like what they are doing much more than Miami's QB . 😆 seems like a they are giving up some rushing yards up the middle maybe that is a scheme adjustment.. they are starting to get a little beat up on that D line. This D has a lot of potential. Mac is rising to the occasion!

Offensively, they flash! It's just a lack of consistancy. Maybe the O line needs to play better maybe it's because they are still learning the O and they are growing into the scheme. Lots of room to grow but Grubb is using his talent very well... and I like his mix of rules and pass!

I would say, MacDonald has done a great job with this team as to this point....and not just because they are 3 and 0, but because they work through adversity well. They play hard and have taken on MacDonalds personality... at least that's what I see.

I think after the first three games that they are absolutely for real. It's a long season and there is lots of room to grow. This team has the tools to be dynamic on both sides of the ball.

let's see what they do in the next 4 games.

They need a guard or two and to be luckier with lb health, Geno needs to keep sharpening as the season wears on as he will do after game reps, holding the ball too much imo, it's a tough one, we're talking microseconds between throw away and sack probably.

They are playing without:

Their best RT
Their 2nd best RT
A reliable Guard
Their best RB
Their best D lineman

They are dinged at LB

They are still learning to play together.

I think they are as real as they can be. Still growing together, still getting better,

And 3-0

O line coaching needs to get better. If Grubb isnt going to be on the sideline, he needs someone there to keep the fire lit under those guys and maintain focus and attention to detail.

We are playing without our best LT? Since when? I'm assuming that's a typo.

Seattle is a hard team to judge at the moment.

On defense we’ve looked decent… buuut we’ve yet to face a real QB or a decent team.

The Dolphins were a playoff team but they’re missing most of their main guys, including their QB.

We’ve yet to play a real QB yet. We’ve won against Bo Nix, Jacoby Brissett and Sky Thompson, one of these QBs has yet to throw a TD.

As the OP stated, it's really hard to say at this point because we haven't played anyone yet. Monday night in Detroit is going to be a very good gauge for where we are as a team.

Everyone knows our weak link on the team is the OL. I'm worried Aidan Hutchinson is going to have a career day against us. I'm curious to see how Mac and the rest of the coaching staff plan to slow him down.

I'm curious to see this Macdonald defense against a competent passing game/offense and we see that next week and i'm very very interested to see how they look against the 49'ers offense and Rams. I'm guessing they will give up some TD's but overall look better than the hot knife through butter defense we've had for the last years under Pete. I'm worried about our OL getting dominated by the 49'ers because that will affect our defense with short fields. I'm hoping Grubb adjusts and realizes since our OL is so bad that he can dial up plays to get the ball out of Geno's hand faster.

Overall, this is year 1 of a new regime and it may take a little time like it did with Pete so gotta be patient. I think the ceiling for this year is 11-12 wins which is great for a year one but getting OL help is badly needed and would take the team to the next level. I'm extremely happy with what Macdonalds defense looks like even against 3 bad passing offenses, they are always around the ball and swarming. Love it.

I think the scheduling Gods have been very kind and that will be ending soon. But I see no reason to complain when we are winning. I'll just enjoy it.

I think next week is going to tell us a lot, playing at the Lions. Are they just beating poorly coached and less talented teams, or do they really have something going? Looking at the rest of the schedule, I don't see any more easy games. The giants and bears are probably the "easiest" games left on the schedule.

I see lots of potential but like everyone else the O-line makes me real nervous, and the defense still seems vulnerable to runs straight up the gut. If Leonard Williams and Murphy miss significant time, it could be rough.

Yes ! Detroit is a EXTREMELY well coached playoff team with a very solid vet QB that will make you pay if you don't have your sh!t together. Big game next week. But at the same time Goff can be rattled if they get pressure on him. They have a great O Line and a really solid running game.

And they just barely beat the Arizona Cardinals.

Want to expand on things instead of laughing, was anything I said out of line?

We haven’t played a single competent passer yet.

We took care of business and are clearly a better defense we also haven’t faced a true challenge yet.

Aidan Hutchinson has me more than concerned. It will be interesting to see how we try and handle him.

jacoby was a better passer than i thought he would be and their TE hardly did anything in the 2nd half
When we get nwosu back we will have even more pressure and that helps against anybody
If even one of our right tackles comes back that and having walker would make a big diff
Adjustments by the staff are huge
Dvoa will be out on tuesday and I think it's the closest metric to telling a real story and after 2 weeks we were second behind the saints who woulda thunk theyd be good
With all this change we weren't really ready to play anybody good yet so pretty happy it worked out that way and hoping we can stay healthy
Nix looked really good today too so like most years , it's not who ya play but sometimes when you play em and I feel we will be ready next week and keep rollin
The lumps will come but hard to change out an entire roster with so many needs that quick
We may not be a conference champ team yet but the operative word is YET
Glass half full and ready to be topped off
Go Hawks
