Uh,........other than discerning what actually took place to put the reports in context.

I said what he did. It was stupid. My point was that he was kidding and not that he was a raving lunatic as the initial reports made it sound. My intent was to say he wasn't completely out of control, not that he wasn't a special kind of stupid.

I am also far, far more concerned with him possibly drinking than with making a stupid joke with a TSA agent. That doesn't mean that I don't think he should have been arrested...it just means that I'm concerned that the dude is an alcoholic and he may have fallen off the wagon.

....so sue me if my larger concern is the guys sobriety than making a very, very stupid joke.

Firstly, you have zero idea what the context was yourself, so you don't need to enlighten us as if you have first hand insight.

Second, no one here has stated, linked to anything, or even thought that he was acting like a raging lunatic yelling he has a bomb. So by defending against something that no one has said, you are trying to downplay it.

Third, context has zero merit here when you say, LITERALLY, the single dumbest word you could say in an airport, regardless of intent.

Jeez. Chill out dude. LOL.

1) I am attempting to get context myself. Things change as more facts come in. I have a right to state my opinion.

2) I never suggested anyone here did that. I was talking about the initial Twitter reports that made me worry he was drunk as hell and acting like a lunatic. Stop defending yourself. I'm not attacking you.

3) Context always matters. It doesn't excuse by any stretch and it was incredibly stupid, but a sober guy making a joke and a drunken dude saying it are two different things. Niether is better or an excuse, but they are DIFFERENT...especially when we are talking about a guy with a history with alcohol. If this were a guy who had no prior issues we could simply dismiss him as an idiot and move on. The fact that he may have been drinking is WORSE. THAT's my point here.

I am in no way trying to justify. There is no justification.

I start to wonder if Harbaugh has a clue about his players or if he is a compulsive liar:
http://www.mercurynews.com/49ers/ci_249 ... lite-level

Harbaugh is a fantastic coach, but his reputation is going to suffer greatly and landing free agents will be much more difficult if players think that he is either a door mat or doesn't truly care about the well being of his team.

I know your not attacking me. I'm attacking your post though cause (even though we agree with the drinking concern) I think your still downplaying the bomb comment.

Please give me any context at all that you could get away with saying the word bomb to a TSA agent. I believe context matters in almost everything in life. When it comes to saying bomb to a TSA agent in a security line at the airport, there is not any fathomable context I can associate that wouldn't be construed as wrong.

I want to hear what Jimmy Cakes has to say about how messed up his locker room is.

Seems like the dude is just coasting along, and letting everyone take the heat/deal with everything. No wonder he's even in the discussion of whether or not he will be back next season.

Everything about his team his laughable.

...............

Dude. Its not completed. I think you just wanna argue. LOL.

I can't give you a context that would JUSTIFY his making a joke about a bomb. That's why I have REPEATEDLY stated it was incredibly dumb. There is no such justification.

Context is important not because I am looking to justify the behavior. Context is important to determine just how bad this is...IE if he was sober and just made a joke he's a freakin idiot. If he were drunk AGAIN and making a fool of himself, its even worse. It would mean he hadn't learned the lesson the first time and fits a pattern of behavior. I'm not attempting to justify...I'm trying to discern just how bad it is....really bad or really, really bad.

Is this really complicated? At no point have I made any effort to justify his behavior. He was a moron. Stupid doesn't quite cover it. If there was alcohol though, its even worse.

Uh, where did I even attempt to justify this? It was insanely stupid.

Well you were kind of reasoning why he did this in your first sentence. There's no need to come up with a reason for this whatsoever

No. You are concerned about his availability for your football team, not his sobriety.

Well of course I'm concerned about his availability. I'm not even going to try to deny that.

That doesn't mean though that I'm not concerned about his sobriety. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Is it wrong that I constantly check the NFL forum to see if anymore 9ers have been arrested today?

Marvin.. come on.. you're better than this.

Just another clear "throw feces at the wall in hopes it sticks" tactic from that clown.

What would be even better is if they released him and Seahawks signs him. Sure that will be Bob's next tweet

Marvin - you shouldn't have put random in quotation marks. To me that is what made it look like an excuse...... not saying that is how it was meant but that put things differently. Now Smith may have thought to himself "random" but that is a different story.

Also they do randomly pull drunk people :)

Who would have thought the day would come that the Raiders are actually the most law-abiding team in the Bay Area?

And yeah, it's incarceratedbob so it means about as much as anything we post (and probably less) but just once I would love to see one of these rich stars get cut for their off-field behavior. Yes, as a Seahawks fan I'd love to see Aldon Smith out of the division, but as a football fan who gets so tired of the double standard applied to star athletes who repeatedly break the law (as opposed to backups or marginal players who get cut five minutes after the story breaks on Twitter) I'd love to see a high profile player get the axe for a change.

Incarcerated Bob might have a new roommate soon, Incarcerated Aldon. 8)

Heard on KIRO they had audio where Aldon couldn't even spell his first name right. So he is either real stupid, real drunk, or both. I'm betting on both!
