That's the next step. Randy and Garver are probably gone. They'll sign Geno and Polanco they did enough in the post season to keep around. One year left is on JP's contract. Assuming they resign Naylor next seasons team should look pretty similar.

Doesn't Arozarena have another year left on his contract? I really don't want him back. Lazy in the OF & not real good at the plate. I don't care if he was a 20/20 guy, the eye test says he's average at best. Just not a smart player, mentally lazy & he's getting older. They have to eliminate all these whiffs, it's beyond ridiculous at this point.

Why? It's the Mariners. The regular season and first round playoff champs. Has always been this way, and will always be this way unless they get a serious 1-9 lineup that can play in the reg AND post season. Go look at the 95 and 2001 lineups and you will see the exact same thing.

yeah youre right he'll be on arb next year. The team is pretty old...my guess is they ride out everyones careers and try to get to a WS.
Cole Young, Williamson, and Rivas aren't going to cut it. They'll probably just stick with what they have. We will see Harry Ford next year at least (assuming he's cool with not catching most days). Maybe we see Montez DH. But theres no infield slugging in the farm right now. Probably won't see Emerson until 2027.

I would have rode Kirby 5 or 6 innings or more then Woo until the 9th for Munoz.

Kirby was pulled at 60 something pitches with a 3-1 lead. Dan managed this game like it wasn't a game 7. I think Servais would have managed the pitching better tonight. I mean really what's the reason to pull Kirby when he was dealing? I hate to put most blame on a first year manager but....I am.

If the ownership opens the coffers this off season, Seattle will not only be back here next year, but can completely dominate the American League and be extremely competitive in the WS.

I really don't care about the funeral tears of the season. I care more about chatting about what I saw in the series we just lost that are clear things to change moving forward.

This is called Growth Mindset. Crying about what happened, and has ALWAYS happened for the history of this franchise, isn't very useful nor interesting to me.

I commend them for their efforts this season -- I do not commend the FO though. They could have done better, can do better, and should do better. There is nothing wrong with that being stated here -- or elsewhere.
