Got to imagine Bryce Miller starts. Sounds like Woo will be ready for game 3. No idea who would pitch from the bullpen in game 1.

Quick thoughts on ALCS, my thoughts might be all over the place.

We won't have to face a pithcer as elite as Skubal again. I think we are set up offensively to do very well at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. A lot of those warning track shots are going to go over the fence there.

Toronto is much better than Detroit, to put it in perspective, Carpenter would maybe be their four or fifth best hitter. Their pen is very good, but we definitely have the edge in the starting rotation. Gausman will very likely go game 1 for them. Then a combination of Bieber, rookie Yesavage, and then I'd expect them to add Chris Bassit to the ALCS roster. There is also a chance they add Scherzer to the roster.

We have historically hit Gausman well. This year we chased him for 3 runs in 5 IP. In the playoff game from 2022, we chased him for 4 runs in 5.2 IP.

Cal vs Gausman career: 14 AB's, 6 hits, 3 HR's, .429 avg, 1,571 OPS
Suarez vs Gausman career: 22 AB's, 7 hits, .318 avg
Naylor vs Gausman career: 11 AB's, 4 hits, .364 avg
Arozarena vs Gausman career: 17 AB's, 5 hits, 1 HR, .294 avg, .922 OPS

Bassitt is like Kirby and Castillo, he's much better at home, his ERA is over 2 runs higher on the road. He's coming off injury, so I don't know if he's ready to come back or can take a full starters role.

Also curious to see if Bichette will be back for the ALCS, would be huge if they are without him.

^^^Nice breakdown. My brilliant analysis is that we're going to need to score a lot of runs. We have to capitalize on our scoring opportunities, not strand so many men on base. I'm looking at you Julio, and to a lesser extent Arozarena and Geno. Our run producers have got to produce runs.

That is all.

The other big question is, if Woo isn't ready for game 2, who goes on Monday? Gilbert threw 34 pitches, last started on Tuesday. Castillo threw 15 pitches, last started on Sunday. I would assume it would be Castillo in game 2? I also don't play baseball so I don't quite understand how much time it takes for a SP to recover from throwing a couple innings.

It looks like we might see Woo in the ALCS, most likely Game 3 or 4:

The club’s hard-worked pitching staff will likely be getting some major reinforcements, as M’s president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto told reporters (including the Seattle Times’ Adam Jude) that right-hander Bryan Woo is expected to added to the Mariners’ roster for the next round.

Woo probably won’t pitch until closer to the midpoint of the series, Dipoto said. This means Woo is being lined up for a start when the ALCS shifts to Seattle for Games 3-4 and (if necessary) 5. It also leaves open the question of who exactly will be starting for the Mariners in the first two games in Toronto, as the M’s used starters Logan Gilbert and Luis Castillo out of the bullpen during last night’s 15-inning marathon. Gilbert threw 34 pitches over two innings of relief, and Castillo threw 15 pitches over 1 1/3 frames.

I believe Miller is pitching game #1.

I was fortunate enough to attend all home games for the series. Talk about emotional exhaustion last night. Anyway here's a cool pic I got and LETS GO M'S!!!
I bet. God I hope the M’s beat Toronto. I am not a M’s fan. But I hate Toronto. I also feel like they cheat at home. Their hitting coach helped Astros cheat too. I don’t think they can beat Toronto in 4. But Toronto has bad starting pitching. If they force them to go to the pen early they will win.

Does anyone know if they've determined a starting time for Games 3 and 4 in Seattle? I'll be going to Game 4 but since I live in the Tri Cities, I'll have to get a real early start.

No link yet, but just saw that Miller is confirmed as Game #1 starter and that Woo is active for the series.

We should do well tonight. I have it on good word that the M's are the best tired and hungover hitting team in the league.

Woo and Mastroboni were added to the roster while Raley and Williamson were taken off. Also no Bichette for the Blue Jays, I will take it.
