I don’t like Rodgers one bit but if he comes at a Russell Wilson Steelers type discount and the mentality plus game plan focus to not try to be prime Rodgers but more of old Tom Brady/Peyton Manning offensive point guard type that can dink and dunk and just eat in the Red Zone.

I honestly wouldn't be opposed to that, it would put the Seahawks in the driver seat to go make some splashes. If they could go out and double down on the O-Line and add some real juice like OC Dalman and OG Fries. Then maybe get a 2nd round pick and WR Q. Johnston from the Chargers for Metcalf. Then snag Cooper Kupp if he’s released, all of a sudden you got the recipe of a ball control hopefully run dominant modernized West Coast offense.

An opportunity to grab a Zrabel type OL that fill the other guard spot but can kick out to OT if needed and the ability to develop a young QB by proxy whether Rodgers takes the time to help mentor or not.

And the Seahawks being off the radar away from a lot of noise and spotlight with a more docile media circus kind feels like this would be be a perfect place for Rodgers who seemingly has come off in recent years like he wants to be low key and introverted in the public eye. So this could be a place where he can just put his head down and work and not feel as vilified or burdened with the chaos and expectations that comes with his legacy.

Edit: missed that DK was traded

If people don't want him because he's washed, that's fine
If people don't want him because of his personality or politics or whatever else, who cares?
We aren't asking you to go to a cocktail party with the guy. Just to watch him throw the football

I want the best guy to play QB. If he's weird, who cares?

We had Russell Wilson for years. Talk about weird

I'd rather have Cam Newton and I don't like Cam Newton. and yes I'm aware he has been out of the league a couple of years.

Just think, if we draft Shedeur and bring in Erin, JS can retire. Rodgers and Shedeur's daddy will be making all the decisions.

Knowing that we are suddenly desperate, Darnold's team UPPED their price. Now this spin that we are talking to Rodgers, ie a message to Darnold that we have alternatives.
This had better be the explanation for this rumor.

You wanted DK at 30 per?

Yikes....
Not necessarily, but I'd prefer to discontinue the loss of real talent coming off of a 10-7 year in which a functional offensive scheme and blocking could've seen us actually be a reasonable contender.

Also, we have money. We have the money to do things like this. We have the money to extend our talent. Our books are cleaner than any team in football in 2026 onward. Yes, that is an overpay - but do I really have faith in us to spend it better considering how god awful we've been in free agency?

I don't. I have no faith in this money being used well, and hearing stuff like us possibly being in on a toxic malcontent media circus QB who will turn 42 during the season doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies. We sound like the Jets right now, and we'll become them in due time if those are really moves we're considering.

Its the front offices job to make plans for a lot of different outcomes and scenarios. They are doing their do diligence. Doesn't mean they will sign him necessarily. I would rather they do that then have no idea where they stand.

Having the money and spending the money wisely are two different things.

Geno and DK didn't want to be here, would have been poor investments and frankly, aren't worth wringing our hands over

Begging your pardon, if Aaron wants toffee's old azz for cocktail party, I am the got cocktail will come type of guy. Three Manhattans later, I have no problem telling him that he was better than Brady, by a lot.

DK and Geno weren’t premier players that came at a premier price. This team has not won a division since 2020, 5 years ago.

This team has needed a reset for a long time now. I’d argue the time for that was back in 2021 when we decided to move on from Russ.

It is clear that other teams and the NFL at large didn’t view our “premier players” like we the fans did.

Seattle has needed this for awhile, though I’m not sure I trust John Schneider to build this team up.
