So the Pats, Ravens, and the Raiders are the teams he had most of his sacks against.

The mental gymnastics that people will go through to try and convince themselves that Garrett and Donald won’t present significant challenges is pretty amazing to watch.

Given the uptick in the quality of opponents he will be facing, Garrett isn’t getting 23 sacks next year, but I bet he will be solidly in the double digits.

AD would probably be best used as a rotational player for the first half of the season, getting him into game shape, before taking on a more permanent role later in the season. He still is one of the smartest linemen to ever suit up, and he hasn’t lost that.

Both are a problem. But, like the Niners and CMC, the Rams only go as far as Stafford can carry them.

Not speaking for anyone here but I personally feel that AD won't be as much an impact player as others believe and are worried about.

The real threat is going to be Myles.

That said, however, this isn't a Prime Lawrence Taylor we're going to be facing here, though he is still very good at what he does.

But he is not this unstoppable force or anything.

If you have a good O-Line, his impact would be diminished considerably and that's why I think our O-Line will do the job against him.

You have two HOF bound players, first ballot for AD, and a season that will likely decide if MG makes it on his first ballot.

They aren’t to be taken lightly, despite their age.

AD retired before he had a significant fall off, making comparisons to other players difficult. Before he retired he was the most double teamed player. Last season, I believe Garrett was. That’s going to be a problem for many teams. Not so much the Hawks, who presumably will expand on their (pass out of a heavy set) philosophy this year.

I think the best argument against the addition of these players being a game changer is that it is simply adding strength to strength. It’s much harder to improve on your strengths than it is to improve on your weaknesses.

In that regard, the addition of McDuffie likely does more to increase the effectiveness of the line than does the addition of either MG or AD.

He would've had a significant fall-off just due to wear-and-tear and age.

The former he was able to avoid due to retiring for 2 years but the latter he can't escape from.

Father Time does not mess around.

Now that said, I can see the Rams using him in some passing downs.

But I would be very surprised to see him play every down, though.


MacDuffie could be a good acquisition but you know the history of Andy Reid letting players go and how they do after leaving the Chiefs. Some call it a curse. lol

The expectation is about as high as it has ever been.

Adversity this year may be quite difficult for them to face.

Should the Rams fail to achieve a deep run into the playoffs, I don't see how they compete next year.

He sure is in all of your heads, he did not quit because of skill, he quit because he lost the desire, you have Garrett and him on the field, who you gonna double, I see him as a modern day Reggie White, dangerous and with a chip on his shoulders due to doubters and I'm sure he was watching last year against us.
