Sheriff was impactful in all three pre-season games. So I'm really surprised he was cut. That cut of Sheriff reminds me of how I felt when we cut Michael Bennett his rookie year.
That was different. We desperately needed his roster spot for a second kicker.

I was pissed at ruskell when he did that but we got him back so who knows , I would bet we get sheriff on the p.s. but kinda surprising to me but it's a whole new coaching staff with different ideals so here we go , better buckle up i guess

JS has been wheeling and dealing for the last 3 weeks. This roster is just a rough draft. The injuries dictated some moves and the practice squad will have turnover too. The Barrett thing is weird, but I'm guessing there's a good reason. Perhaps JS guessed he'd end up in AZ if he was a FA so he dealt him across the country. The way JS has had a strangle hold on this off-season, I have a hard time seeing it just being an accident. ...just my opinion. ...and no I'm not his mom.

16 Practice squad slots I got 11 I'd like to see get through: Barrett, Boykin, Curtis, Eskridge, Holani, O'Connell, Okada, Rhattigan, Sheriff, White, Winston & 5 slots for fleecing other teams.
Green Bay Guard Royce Newman would be a great add.

Do former Packers OLs get to hold on every play without drawing a flag like on-the-Packers-roster OLs have been alloowed to do for a good long time now?

Just remember, Seahawk fans waaaaaayyyyyyyy over value our cuts. If they were released, most likely they suck. Proceed.

I can't imagine why you'd say that.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got letters to write to the Pro Football Hall of Fame about Jazz Ferguson and Troymaine Pope.

D00d, I was so completely on the Troymaine Pope bandwagon, a.k.a. the Popemobile.

Yeah, we did get Bennett back...but we got him back after he played for the Bucs for 4 years.

That would be a great PS if they all make it.

Sorry, I'm ignorant to these rules. I saw Artie Burns got terminated. Don't you have to do some kind of injury settlement with him after last game? Thanks

Terminated, Vested Veteran

  • S Marquise Blair
  • CB Artie Burns
  • LB Blake Lynch
  • QB PJ Walker
You're thinking "Waived, Injured", which was the case with Jack Westover this year.

Artie Burns was not injured, and like Blair, Lynch and Walker, he is a vested veteran (4 years minimum)... and therefore not subject to going through waivers like those without the minimum of 4 vested years.

Burns and the rest on the above list are eligible to sign with any team immediately after being cut.

Add Jason Bean QB cut from the Colts on to the PS. Excellent pre season. Fastest player in the draft. Or lose to it.

Sheriff was the FIRST waiver claim of the day by the Panthers. They also grabbed Rhattigan.

Not surprised about Sheriff. I didn't there was ANY chance he didn't get claimed. Well, he was the first player claimed in the entire league.

The Panthers are starved for defensive talent so that isn't surprising. Evero needs every player they can comb through and find.

Canales is familiar with Johns roster manipulation and how he does things, they were probably watching closely the players that showed up and sitting back and saying yep, he tried to slip him by.

I glad to have Drake Thomas make the team, don't be surprise if we snag somebody new in the next few days.
I was excited to see what he would bring last year after seeing him stand out during the Raiders pre-season. Mostly ST last year before injury, so not much to view as a LB from 2023. Looks like he played a few snaps in pre-season.

Any intel you can add on him?
