Watch him pitch. Don't just read a stat line. He will have a horrible inning or two and a clean slate for three. Or, vice versa. The only thing consistent about him right now is his inconsistency. I like him. He is a rookie. I am uneasy about a victory every time he pitches because offense, defense, and his ability to escape have to all be clicking or the team loses.

Bingo!

gotcha curry, I inferred that you were saying elias consistently pitches poorly but gets lucky in terms of how many runs he gives up, which he doesn't.
I don't think anyone would argue his consistency is an issue, and I think a big part of it is mental. He tends to overthrow, try and force his breaking ball, balk when things begin to go wrong

Didn't Elias jump from double A ball bypassing Triple A ball at the beginning of the year? Don't most go to Triple A then into the majors? He's got 9 wins and I'm sure he'll have his 10th win soon. That would make 4 out of the 5 starting pitchers for the M's with 10 plus wins. Paxton probably would be close to that if he had been healthy at the start of the season.

By the way, the A's have not been the same since they traded Cespedes for Lester. They are slowly fading. Hopefully the M's can catch and surpass them.

Come on Curry... thats about how 95% of fans of any team in any sport take their support. There is rarely objectivity, and even with it you rarely find it on an internet message board.

i'd say enjoy it. let others play both sides of the fence. atleast its relavent baseball talk in August.

I will be part of the 5% that will call them on their BS. That is as much of a right of mine as their disingenuous "fandom."

Funny, because I believe that there is nothing worse than fair weather fans. Weird, differing opinions.
Ahhhhh the "Superfan card"........ Well played! :177692:

Uncle Si and I have butted heads in this very forum a lot, but he is 100% right here....
....and for you to attack Mizzougirl, is very poor form.

So wait, I am supposed to feel bad/guilty because I am a better fan than these guys? Ridiculous. I guess that I should remain quiet so the rest of you can feel better about your flimsy fandom.

As far as the fence riding Missouri goes,,, she can handle herself there hero.
Problem is tough guy you are not better than anyone else here in this thread much less this forum. Oh I know she can handle herself, as she is pretty much mopping the floor with you.

A good first inning saw us get two runs and Iwakuma has been shutting down the Phillies the whole night. We're thru 4 innings right now and the M's are leading 2-0.

No she is not. Everybody has moved on. You are now insignificant in this thread unless you are talking baseball. Release your hate.

Kuma is ROLLIN tonight !

Kuma was on it. I love how everybody is shocked when he allows a walk. It is such a rare occurrence that it leaves people speechless. He has only walked something like twelve this year.

Yeah, I could have provided a bit more clarity in my original post.

What's the current score? With Karma pitching I assume the M's are still good?

Mariners win 5-2. They were winning 5-0 heading into the bottom of the 9th so the Phillies got a little spark it seems before giving up the ghost.

Still pissed about yesterday's loss. Should have never happened. I would have loved to have the series victory wrapped up before heading into tomorrow's lefty matchup between Hamels and Paxton.

We didn't pick up any games on Detroit or the Angels, and at the moment Oakland leads in their game. So, looks like everything is staying status quo heading into tomorrow's matchups.

Just a heads up, they are in Philly so the games should be early enough for you to follow them based on EST.

Well done by Iwa...solid outing (actually an outstanding one) and following a loss. Nips that and gets the momentum moving forward again.

Nice game for Jackson as well. Great trade that...
