Was just listening to Brock and Danny discussing Pete's decision to start practices at 1000 am as a way of getting our guys used to that time of day for all the East Coast trips.

Interesting...

Its a great move. Never understood why we never did that more often.

When I played football in highschool if we had a night game the coach would make us practice at 7 pm . So the body would get use to being ready at that time come gameday

Nice to see that he's actually acknowledging it instead of acting like there isn't a difference. It's at the least refreshing to see some flexibility with our coaches after the Holmgren era.

I've also always wondered why we didn't practice every day at 10:00 am during the week leading up to an East Coast afternoon game.

Makes sense to do that for the whole week IMO. Maybe their bodies and internal clocks can adjust just a bit to make a difference? Or at least enough to have the 10:00 am kickoff not be such a negative difference for us.

Either way, I like it!

Interesting. I wonder if it really helps physically or if it a form of psychological conditioning PC is using to get them to believe they can play well earlier in the day.

seems like sort of a no brainer to me..wonder why it took so long. Never understood the reluctance to admit it actually was an issue. I suppose they view it as being 'soft' but when your career and wins/losses are all based mostly on your physical ability, then your body clock is pretty important, i dont see that as being soft.

Wow that must have sucked. Study/ do homework after school then practice at night, go home, shower, and go to bed.

Everyone of our thursday night walkthrough's before the game was at night, majority of our high school games were at night.. and we practiced in the stadium as opposed to our practice field. not sure if it helped any but that's what we did..

Now that is how you correct a problem. Don't complain just adapt.

Excellent idea! I’m glad that PC and the coaching staff are at least acknowledging the disparity of play between 10am and 1pm starts.

Glad to see they're doing this, and I hope it reaps dividends. Of course now, we'll be off for the 1PM PST starts. ;)

Grew up in the sticks and always played outside on grass. When we made the Kingbowl we practiced inside with the heat cranked. We won so obviously it was a genius move!

Hahaha. Awesome! I knew Pete wasn't that dense and was lying through his teeth when he poo-poo'd the East coast start times in his town hall, saying something to the effect of 'there's nothing to that. we aren't going to do anything differently and you guys can worry about that stuff. It makes no difference.'

I remember thinking, "c'mon coach l, how about some intellectual honesty."

If it was such a no brainer why didn't you ever suggest it as a solution?
