I also saw this:

Wilson is the only player in NFL history with at least 30 touchdown passes and fewer than 15 interceptions in four straight seasons. He also had three seasons with at least 30 TD passes and 500 yards rushing, which is the most in NFL history.

But there's a lot of counter arguments to be made, like no SB MVP and not only no league MVPs, but not even a single vote for one. Plus, toss in the fact that he was never selected as a first team All Pro selection and it's a strong indication that many people consider him a 2nd tier QB. Then comes the career ending belly flop.

Russell definitely belongs in the HOF conversation as we've both posted good arguments for his inclusion, but you're outing yourself if you don't think he's a HOF QB? Come on, my friend. You know better.
Those counter arguments are odd tho. No Super Bowl mvps? How many hall of fame QBs don’t have one? A few do. I hate the votes argument because everyone agrees he was robbed of at least one mvp outright. Everyone. The end of career if you look at the end of every QBs career I would argue his stats are better than most in that regard. It just feels like certain arguments get thrown around and no one bothers to look at them. End of career collapse? His last three years he had a 45/15 touchdown to int ratio. And a passer rating north of 90. What are we doing here? lol

Most of those QB's in the modern era that made the HOF without an MVP award had something else extraordinary about their resumes. For example, Dan Marino finished his career as the all time passing yardage leader. Warren Moon had a career in the CFL as well as breaking the color barrier for NFL QB's. Jim Kelly took his team to a SB in 4 consecutive seasons. Troy Aikman played for America's Team (sarcasm intended). But your point is well taken. The fact that Russell never won an MVP is not a disqualifying criterion. It probably wouldn't be that big if a deal if he had gotten at least a single vote.

As far as your complaint about the MVP voting process goes, it's completely irrelevant. The voting results are an undeniable fact and is a direct reflection on his popularity amongst the types of people who will be casting votes for the HOF. Is it fair? Maybe, maybe not. It doesn't matter. It is what it is.

I'll have to give you credit for defending the belly flop. Too bad for Russell that the coaches he played for during that period of time, in particular Sean Payton, who ate twice as much dead money than the next most expensive player cut just to get rid of him, or Mike Kafka, the Giants coach who demoted Russell below Teddy Bridgewater on the depth chart, saw it differently.

If Russell makes the HOF, I'll gladly buy you a beer and admit that I was wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

Russ is not a HOFer. No MVP, no first team all pros.

He has a ring but the narrative behind the ring is a historical defense and Marshawn Lynch.

His second Super Bowl ended with him turning the ball over in the waning minutes of the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks under Wilson would go on to not have great playoff success after the LOB was dismantled.

In addition to that he became a meme on the broncos.

You can point to his career numbers but also realize he played in a league that was easier to pass in as well.
