Looking to the future, and the way John is building the team for sustained success has me in a curious state of peace regarding the outcome of this specific season.

For several reasons, I can see the Hawks taking a small step back this season, only to return to form and take another two Lombardi trophies in the next few seasons, and I would be ok with that. If we don’t go back to back, it won’t make me particularly nervous about the likelihood that we take another couple of trophies in this life cycle.

Obviously, we want the Lombardi every year, but if you had to choose between going back to back, only winning the two, or winning 3 trophies over a 5-6 season stretch, which would you choose?

I’m going for more trophies over a longer time span.

I personally don’t see us going back-to-back. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but for me, bringing in another rookie OC could hurt us more than it helps. It takes time for rookie OCs to really catch on and learn on the job.
I think winning three trophies over a 5–6 season stretch is more realistic, especially with the number of draft picks we have in next year’s draft.

Extremely tough to repeat these days. I think the 3 in 5 type situation seems more realistic overall. But being a contender year after year is what I'm expecting.

And the Rams just made it even more difficult to win back to back with that trade.

Klint Kubiak was a rookie OC last year in his only season as an OC for the Seahawks. He seemed to do ok. I forget, how did the Seahawks end last season with a rookie OC?

You must have been watching a different Kubiak because the one for the Seattle seahawks was not a rookie OC. Did you mean Klay Kubiak? he was a rookie OC for the 49ers.

How did the rookie OC do the year before ? Different QB I get it, but last years offensive success is not guaranteed
