This was not a JS draft. It was a MM draft.

Taking a guard with a top 20 pick. Trading UP in the second round to get what is clearly a Mike Macdonald type player at safety. Then, for the first time since Russell Wilson, drafting a QB in the third round who's closest comp is probably Lamar Jackson.

P.S. Before you start breaking out the pitchforks, I'm not saying Milroe is the next Lamar Jackson. For starters, Milroe didn't win a Heisman. I'm just saying they have similar characteristics coming out of college.

I would hope it's a MM draft. Schneider's not coaching the players nor is he creating the schemes. He should be drafting the best players available for the schemes MM and Kubiak create.

Well, he did win the William V Campbell trophy, which is the academic Heisman. Close enough?

Well, I think priorities have changed. 2 years with MM our first picks have been on the trenches.
I think JS is really good at taking information from scouts and coaches, then crunching the boards.

JS does not seem like a guy that demands his own way, or has a massive ego. He is humble in most of the ways that count.

Listen to his interview talking about meeting a reciver pre draft. The reciver didn't know who he was. Asked John to get his bags.
"I'll get his bags, but he won't get drafted here".

I love PC, but he shares a ton of the blame for the misses.

People tend to pick one side of the two headed monster (any dual management) and assume any of the good comes from that person. Any of the bad comes from the other.

John works well with others and tries to get them what they want.

I remember a thread with a bunch of folks saying we should take a qb and not swinging for the fence will never get you anywhere so with that in mind John has so far nailed the draft , hope we get 3 contributors and depth that has little drop off , that would be huge

I really don't see this draft as being remotely outside of John Schneiders character.

Versatile OL who impressed at Senior Bowl is pretty much a JS trope at this point. Unexpected TE. Trade up for hyper-athetic prospect is part of the JS playbook with DK and Darrell Taylor. JS has also always loved hyper-athletic QBs.

This was still a JS draft, just like the past few which have been good.

JS got us a highly rated IOL in the 1st. Something's different.
