How is this turning into Politics all the sudden? She's winning, every day. More power to her.
At first, I kind of got tired of seeing it over and over again. But now I just find myself thinking it's so petty to even care one bit. She's not some criminal, she's not hurting anyone, she's just watching her man play football. There are so many things that are more important. And the need to put down someone who is successful is nothing new. Not my kind of music, but who cares? She's the biggest star on the planet right now, and it's really not even close. She chased her dream and she's killing it.

Okay so the video starts off with a clip of Trump saying that a certain song from one of his supporters topped the charts, topping a Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus song. That's not an attack, at all. That's literally all he said. Not sure who this YouTuber is, but he isn't very observant.

The reality is that if you are a powerful person who is potentially tied to a certain political leaning, the "other side" is going to try and discredit you in any way possible. This isn't anything new in politics, and supporters of both parties engage in it. I don't like it, either. The attacks, conspiracy theories, etc. I didn't like them against Trump. I don't like them against Biden, and I don't like them against Swift either. Maybe someday we can live in a world where politics isn't played this well.

Either way, I don't see how a small faction of people who support conservative politics to the point where they put forth conspiracy theories and pre-emptively attack Swift due to her potential influence on the election is representative of people on social media.

In fact, I watched some YouTube videos created specifically to attack political pundits going after Swift, and over and over again in the comments I am reading things like "I'm a Republican and I don't have a problem with Swift."

You're agreeing with me, you just don't see it, or won't admit it.

Either way, you asked for proof. I showed you, sorry if you didn't like it.

Well, it seemed like you were labeling everyone who is annoyed with the Taylor Swift attention as somebody who hates women, believes in conspiracy theories, leans a certain way politically, etc. That simply isn't the case. Most people are just annoyed with her, and expressing their annoyance on the internet.

The everyone who disses on Swift must be a conservative right leaning male is a huge stretch...Zero credibility...

It seems like a lot of people are making that assumption.

I loved her songs when I heard them in my wife’s car. Then I have friends that have daughters who go crazy. I realized she is a phenomenon for a generation I don’t really know well. If she can influence the love of the game to more kids and people who may not know, more power to her. Strictly in my opinion, look wise I have a crush on Dua Lipa compared to Taylor 😂

Again, just a strange thing to get worked up about. And I was guilty of being tired of it at first. But....... She's the biggest star on the planet, they show her a few times during the game. She's there watching her boyfriend play football. At some point, it's just wasted energy even caring about it. She's not hurting anyone and it's not her fault they show her. Meh.
If she was some psycho, horrible person, I guess I could see why people wouldn't like her. But by all accounts, from people who follow her every move, she's really cool. She's all about the fans, and she treats people around her like gold.

Well, I'm not "worked up" about it, I just don't like the distraction. It's not what I tune in for.

I'm reminded of how MNF once used to have booth guests, usually a relative or close friend of a player. The conversations were absurd. They once had Bret Favre's wife as a guest, and one of the questions that was asked was "when Bret is tackled after throwing a pass, to you first look to see if the pass was completed or to see if Bret isn't hurt?" And speaking of MNF, who can forget Dennis Miller and his lame attempts to be funny with Al Michaels having to fake that he was laughing?

Sometimes I feel as if I'm some sort of eccentric personality, that I actually like watching the game unfiltered and as is.

Meh, just ignore it. Her total onscreen time is probably less than 2 minutes total. She's not hurting anyone. I guess I've just shifted to laughing at how people make it ruin their experience. It has zero impact on you, me or anyone else. It doesn't ruin how much I enjoy a game. It WAS annoying, now it's just like white noise.

And that Dennis Miller thing, that was a next level forcing someone on people. SOOOO bad :ROFLMAO:

I've heard no shortage of people complaining about how much they have to hear about the Kardashian women, but don't recall those people being labeled as misogynists. Hell, some seem to carry their lack of interest as a badge of honor. As a whole, it has been pretty vogue to stick your nose up at tabloid culture for a while. Back in the early 2000s, I don't recall a lot of outrage directed at those who didn't care for the ubiquitous headlines about who Jennifer Lopez or Jennifer Aniston were dating. I guess that's the evolution of society.

I was explaining that those who are annoyed and angered by Swift are a very specific demographic of older, white frustrated angry conservative men..............both in the media and political world, and I've spent enough time in the god forsaken Politics forum to see it's those same people here.

For the 10th time, I apologize if that irritates you to deal with that realization if you fit into this demographic.

Kelce was asked yesterday about Swift and the "distraction" she has caused. He said he feels incredibly blessed and lucky to have someone who loves him enough to move heaven and earth to fly all over the world to support him.

If THAT annoys you? You got some deep emotional problems my brother.

Yep, likely it's more jealousy of other people being successful and happy. I don't know about all that political and demograph stuff. I don't follow politics one bit.

I just see a happy couple who digs each other. I have never liked Kelsey, his entire career, but I hope he shreds the 29ers on Sunday.
That being said, he's a phenomenal football player. And Mahomes is one of the best of all time, period.

The only thing I'm worked up about is how people are insulting those who are annoyed by it, calling them insecure, sexist, etc... even though most of us aren't blaming Swift, just the broadcast and media for the extra attention she gets.

It's as if people are programmed to call people sexist if they have any issues with anything involving a woman. It's concerning in terms of what is going through the brains of people, and how it's getting worse.

The less sexism that actually exists in this world, the more mountains they have to make out of mole hills to keep the idea alive.

I already explained why your idea of what kind of people are annoyed with Swift are a small percentage.

There are tons of people who are not seeing this as a political thing, and are just annoyed with the extra attention on the broadcast, in the media, etc. you're basically trying to support the idea that anyone who is annoyed with this fits into that demographic.

Plus, what wrong with being old, white, and conservative? Do you have an argument for why that even matters? Like, what's the point you're trying to get across? Are you trying to insinuate that it's only "bad people" getting annoyed?

Nah, you have a right to be annoyed. Just like people have a right to think it's not a big deal. I just wanna' see a KC win and Santa Clara crying in their beer. 30 years and counting........

This is a great point.

Also, what do we call all the women who complain about how much they hear about famous women? Are they also misogynists?

I'm starting to learn that people who label others as misogynists lack the mental capacity to actually understand the complexities of life. Either that, or they willfully ignore them.

She's successful, makes people happy, treats people well from what I have heard, doesn't trample others at least in the open and media to step up into her success. Never hear her bad mouthing a bunch of people. There are plenty others out there that do.

Remember when all the same types of people complained about too many Jessica Simpson shots at Cowboy's games when she was dating Romo?

So yes, if a famous player was dating a Kardashian or J-Lo, they'd still be complaining. Swift's political views have only amplified the fake outrage.
