No it wouldn't be a colossal misuse of draft capital. Drafting someone with a 3rd and then trading him for a 5th a year later when he no longer makes sense to keep would be pragmatic. They are not letting Milroe go for a 5th round pick. That would be a colossal misuse of draft capital. They got him in the 3rd round last year as a developmental guy. You don’t just trade a guy a year later for a pick two rounds lower than you drafted him. JS is much smarter than that.
Milroe could be traded for something higher than the pick used on him. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this happened. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he stays a Seahawk and they continue to develop him as is the plan.
“Milroe is sent to a team that is better set up to see if he develops”? WTAF?! I can’t imagine a better scenario to develop a QB that behind a bona fide starter, and a functional backup. From top to bottom 1-3, I doubt any team has a healthier QB room.
No, that it will cost some depending on Kubiacks needs and evaluation, he knows us better then anyone at the moment and what can boost his team. Are you suggesting that trading for Crosby will cost all of those players and some draft picks as well?
That guy has serious motivation issues. For all his talent, he probably isn't a fit here.Packers looking to trade Rashan Gary and theres been talks with teams. Decent pass rusher who's high school was our our line backer coach and has Michigan connections tied to MM. Due 19.5 million with no guaranteed money.
How do you know he isn't a future star? He was drafted with the intention of not playing much if at all for 1-2 years and develops. Dude has the physical talent to be the best athlete on the field. I just don't think you trade that away unless you are blown away by an offer. If they do trade him, I would expect it to happen during the draft when someone they really like is available. They obviously saw something in him when they drafted him and to cut bait on a developmental QB after 1 year doesn't make sense unless the coaching staff and scouts determined he wasn't going to improve after having him for a year.No it wouldn't be a colossal misuse of draft capital. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but:
1. We absolutely aren't keeping 3 QBs
2. Milroe is behind Lock
Those 2 points negate everything in your post. There is no need to waste a roster spot keeping 3 QBs just to see if Milroe can develop into Darnold's backup. We aren't sitting on a future star. He is a developmental QB on a team that no longer has a spot for a 3rd QB. It's a numbers game on a super bowl contender, with Milroe being the odd man out. The player we get with the 5th for Milroe will contribute more than Milroe will, so it's a value-added move. I'm looking forward to seeing who we get.
Good post, someone finally said it.How do you know he isn't a future star? He was drafted with the intention of not playing much if at all for 1-2 years and develops. There's talk that Jalen Carter was offered as part of the Crosby trade. That would be nuts.I think Philly is trying to make a splashy move that may or may not involve AJ Brown. Their GM is annoyingly aggressive and I could see them trading for Crosby. You heard it here first.
A couple things I will add:The 2026 offseason is underway. Free agency starts officially in a few days. We have already seen a couple of trades between yesterday and today in the league. We know who the Seahawk free agents are that might leave or might be back. That’s really all we know right now.
The Rams traded for a CB because JSN gives McVag night sweats. The Bills traded for a WR because Allen needs targets.
Does JS trade someone we weren’t expecting to leave because of a lack of draft picks? Does he make a trade of player(s) for player(s)?
Is there a positional group that team management deems strong enough that they could use a guy as trade bait?
Lots of things can happen between now and the actual start of the season. Any bold predictions? Any lame predictions?
Geno was in a bad situation he had IMO the worst OC in the NFLI think Geno will have a market when he is cut. Some teams will think he was just in a bad situation in Vegas.
There's some terrible QB's out there though. He's better than Brossmer and JJ McCarthy especially if he had those weapons and coach. Probably better than Sanders, definitely better than whoever was the Jets QB, Kyler Murray, Tua, geriatric Rivers. No, he just sucks.
Gesucks?No, he just sucks.
Repeating it doesn’t make it any more true.I know I'm beating a dead horse, but:
1. We absolutely aren't keeping 3 QBs
Carter is in a similar contract situation to Witherspoon and Smith-Njigba. He's not going to want to play out his 4th season and there's no dead money to accelerate in to the 2026 cap. The Eagles are looking to upgrade overall talent. I'm not sure how make much sense another expensive player will make to a Raiders franchise wanting a complete re-build.There's talk that Jalen Carter was offered as part of the Crosby trade. That would be nuts.
