The reason for the letdown feeling was because the Patriots had no right whatsoever to be in a Super Bowl. They weren’t a very good team and were probably one of the least deserving in a very long time. Wasn’t anything Seattle did but rather the lack of any real competition from the AFC.

Nah I think the patriots had a stellar defense and their offense is a real rough work in progress, the whole AFC is trash. The patriots were probably the best team over there in the playoffs, or the bills, I can’t believe Josh Allen couldn’t will his team through that conference. Even the jags were ok, those teams are just missing some functionality though

Some folks are never happy, winning the Super Bowl doesn’t feel as good as the poster expected. Holy Moly???

If the Hawks had won 31-13, or 45-13 would that have been better? Would you have preferred an offensive shootout instead of a smothering defensive domination.

The game was over when the Hawks got points on their first drive. In fact the real championship was 2 weeks before in beating the Rams.

The team beat a good Patriots team by 16 points, that was pretty solid as the Pats really weren’t allowed to do much by the Hawks D.

If anyone thought the game would be another 43-8 wipeout like XLVIII they were truly discounting the reality the Pats did have a good D.

Enjoy the reality your team has just demonstrated they are the best in the league this year, and they got the hardware, T-shirt and hat. Winning the SB is always special for any team.

Just a lack of appreciation to just how much work for a long period of time to get to this point. We were really good all year long and deserved to be champs. Great job Seahawks, the work you put into it is not easy

Perhaps some of the rather subdued reactions are due to the fact that it wasn't a very exciting game. There wasn't a touchdown scored in the first 3 quarters.

As far as my own emotions goes, they weren't of euphoria as they would have been had we won the game on the last play. Rather, similar to what they were when we won SB 48, they were that of pride and satisfaction knowing that there was no doubt whatsoever that we were the best team in the league, something I already knew but that the team just demonstrated to others.

It's kinda like watching your son or daughter get married. You know for weeks or months that the event is coming, so by the time it actually arrives, it's somewhat anticlimactic. But that should not be confused with a letdown or a failure to rise to expectations.

I think if the Super Bowl was the Rams OT game, we'd all have a different feeling.
I felt like, scary enough, that we never reached our peak and the rest of the NFL teams were a let-down. We are going to be a better team next season(barring a horrible OC hiring) and if another couple teams dont step up, its going to be an anticlimactic repeat with a chance at 17-0

The postseason felt a little too easy, we had a week 1 bye, then played a banged up 49er team that we blew out, beginning w the opening kickoff. So we coasted into the CCG w another home game against the Rams, who we handled easier than during the regular season. And ya, the Pats didn't belong in the SB, a team like the Bills would have been more competitive. So there was a limited amount of drama in the playoffs, and it did feel a little anti-climactic when it ended. Like, we won the effing Super Bowl, is this all there is?

I expected a playoff type year. I had no idea Darnold and our offense would come out so good. Blew me away. Then by the end of the year the run game was going and the defense was incredible except when facing the Rams. Winning the super bowl this year is stunning to me. Many were arguing about finding the QB of the future in the offseason.
So it did kind of feel like is this really happening? How is this possible? Normally a team will climb its way to the top but we went from no playoffs to winning the super bowl. I kinda get the posters sentiment. Like how did this come so easy? Not that it was easy but for me its just a really unusual and easier than expected path to getting back to a top tier team.

Calculated game planning, executing plays as a cohesive team with painstaking precision, playing with bulldog tenacity from start to finish, and playing out of their minds leaving it all out on the field, can make a game seem easy at times. But in reality, every minute is hard. frickin. work. I think all these things define the Seahawks under Mac.

McVay has been burning the midnight oil for a month with a full staff dismantling tape. MMac has to focus on rebuilding the Offensive staff, then only a few weeks before the draft. Most importantly McVay, but every coach is studying the Seahawks both to copy and to defeat.

Seahawks are at a disadvantage going into pre-season. That makes it more difficult, but not impossible. My gut tells me though that McVay and Shanahan would trade 4 or 5 losses to sweep the Seahawks. The Seahawk logo will probably stay in the 9rs locker room all season as motivation. Stafford is staying one more year to sell his soul and win the Division. NFCW will be brutal next season. Oh yah, the Cards will try hard too...

If a repeat is on the table, it'll be an incredible accomplishment.

It is all based on expectations. And playing 2 teams for the 3rd time might have contributed.

We beat the 49ers again after blowing them out. Great win but expected.
We beat the Rams in a close one most of us worried about. Great win less expected.
We beat a Patriots team we all expected to beat. Great win but expected.

I enjoyed the heck out of it and will until the end of my days. BTW a "great" game to me is my team beating the living crap out of a different team. Not a win on a final drive. I actually don't like that LOL

I feel it too. The important thing to remember is how awesome the whole season was. Each loss was so close to a win and most wins were emphatic! It's hard for the SB to compare with the games before it. I think the apex was the middle Ram game. What a journey that was. And of course, the NFCCCG was just delicious even tho it should have been 31-23. And boat racing the 9ers was beautiful. If only Sam was a little more spot on on those long passes that Gonzo broke up. BTW, NE had to play #9, #2, #3, and #1 defenses. Brutal.
