I wouldn't leave this organization for that one. Not for any number. I'm not saying Kubiak won't, I'm just noting that he has a choice in the matter. The only owner Id avoid more is Woody in NY.

I agree with this take, just not sure Raiders provide that type of job security.

I can’t imagine Kubiak worrying about Brady watching over his shoulder. I think Brady being there would motivate someone to take the job if anything. Brady is a winner and has charisma. I am sure he is telling the potential candidates he won’t be there to micro manage them, but will be there for support and anything else they need, and mostly that Brady is committed to getting the Raiders back to winning and he’ll do what it takes to help the new HC do that.

Ultimately, having Brady in Vegas is a big reason why I think Kubiak will take the job.

You can't blame a guy for following his dream and decades of hard work when he says yes to a head coaching job.

But if he does leave, who is the preferred, next level, elite Offensive Coordinator that will bring the Seahawks back to the playoffs?

If it was me.. which it is not.. I want to try and win back to backs.. Proving you can do whatever you want if you have a QB that even many written off (Oh boy didnt mean that.... but you know what I mean lol)

Then you have a chance at a more Lucrative Head Coaching job... hell maybe SF craps the bed next year and they are like.. yeah Shanny we just need a change.. lets go for the back to back OC winner.

He’s not going to get to take all his staff from Seattle and he’d be starting from scratch on defense. Draft is two months away too. Seems like a recipe for disaster.

Besides losing the continuity, playcalling and play design, it's possible Kubiak could leave with the staff that came with him.

He will do like Ben Johnson, say no until a good team and front office comes calling. Raiders are a dumpster fire, and he'd just have to move twice next year.

I would be surprised if he got more than 1-2 guys to go with him. He might get a bag, but his staff won’t. We could promote Dennison or Janocko to OC and wind up keeping the whole bunch.

I really think Mendoza is seen as a special prospect and a guy a lot of people would be thrilled to hitch their wagon to. I really don't think this job is seen in the same light as the Browns or Cards. This is like latching onto the Bills before they got Josh Allen, but Mendoza will likely have fewer growing pains.

It depends on how JS approaches it. They can give promotions and money to existing staff to get them to stay. Seattle's a pretty stable operation now.

Okay it's a chance to be a head coach and it pays well but if the team you coach doesn't find almost-immediate success, you're done just like that and it also damages your outlook in getting another Coaching gig in the future.

I think it's MONEY that is the core of it moreso than him being a Head Coach.

They need to pay this man...hell, OVERPAY Him if need be since any money won't count against the CAP.

Cap space. Ben and Mike were successful because they spent big on free agents as well as had a qb. Spytek can do that? The Lions seemed to regress without Ben...maybe the Ravens without McDonald. Does that happen with the Hawks necessarily? IDK.

I think it's a money thing (HC's get substantially more) plus the chance (or burden?) to run your own team. And you're right, only 1 new HC or so per year breaks through and makes it. Most of these new hires will be out in 3 years or less. If he goes, hopefully he looks externally for a DC and not try to dig into that side of the ball as well. In any event, just win it this year so that next year is a different kind of (less) pressure.
