Fortuitous bust, really?

Did they really "luck into it" McVay, or did you get outschemed by Macdonald?

I think he was outschemed and was a little butt hurt after the game.

Watching that over and over....that does NOT look like a busted coverage. My bet is on intentional all the way. But what do I really know? :p I'm choosing to go with...it was a beautifully perfect situational defensive call based on past tendencies.

I know, I know. How can that be when MacD is so clearly outmatched by the offensive geniuses in the West. Trust me bros - MM checkmated McVay here.

Oh look, Hawks won the game. The Media has to downplay it. rinse and repeat after every time they win.

Funny how they conveniently ignore the flat out pick play on one of the Rams touchdowns. Extra yawn.

What an absolute dewsh. Enjoy Cancun, spikey hair boy. Also, feel free to piss off.

Why doesn't he just come out and say "Nobody is smarter than me, so there is no possible way this wasn't pure luck"

To add to this, read this article about D Law, IN HIS OWN WORDS, really reading the situation. It wasn't luck, it was a vet being f'n savvy!

Some of you nailed the real reason how this worked!

@HawkFreak. Sorry if I usurped. I can't see the full article from your link.

That's why it's so easy to love to hate the pointy haired LA pretty boy genius.

It's all good! We're just stacking info and truth together like the team stacks wins.

Ngl…MMs reaction and calling out ‘END’ right before the play leads me to believe that it was indeed a ‘fortuitous bust’.

I think the ‘bust’ part is a bit harsh. D-Law sensed that Love was initially beat. Things that happen during a game aren’t always schemed.

Additionally, who’s to say D-law wouldn’t have got to Stafford or tipped the pass?

It would be interesting to hear Tanks side. He’s a vet…and smart. I have a feeling that nothing was ‘busted’. Tank knew Stafford wasn’t running it in from that far out and made a savvy, veteran move.

So assuming that Love did his job and not get beat, does DLaw continue with the rush and not drop in coverage?

A long, long time ago as a linebacker playing against Pasco High School in the closing minutes of a one score game, I completely broke away from my hook zone and broke up a pass in the deep quarter. I saw our corner trip and fall, and that the opposing WR was completely alone. I turned my back on the QB and sprinted as fast as I could toward the receiver. He was faster than me but was slowing up because the QB had underthrown the ball. The ball hit me in the back of the helmet. We won the game.

It is called situational awareness. You are not coached to do this as coaches despise their players "ad-libbing". Regardless, the game program for the following week against Kennewick High school had me listed as defensive player of the game verse Pasco. Sometimes, even coaches recognize when adjusting on the fly is necessary.

Plus, this was an excellent chance for me to self-promote about a game that took place fifty years ago. I don't have a lot of years left. Dammit, I'm going to take advantage of the few years that I do have left. And I'm going make you all suffer through it. "The good old days". When I was fast and strong. I relive them all of the time. Encourage your kids to play sports. The memories persist a lifetime. Perhaps even when referenced upon their own death bed.
