I’m really new, only been officially since 2015, but, have been a lurker before that. My wife considers this my favorite website. And she would not be incorrect. I have a deep appreciation for the Godfathers of .NET, they know who they are. Couldn’t imagine going to any other Seahawks community other than dot net. That would be blasphemous! I love the community and 12s here! Dot net members are the ones that really understand Seahawks football. You gotta love that and respect that about dot net.

Stumbked onto .NET in 2012 i believe. Been a lot memorable posts, but the funniest one I remember was when the Saints fan said his girlfriend was attacked and beat up in the parking lot after the beast quake playogf game.

Said he hired a private eye to investigate so he could press charges. Had the whole saints forum thimking Hawks fans were a bunch of gang bangers and thugs. Needless to say he took a beating on here, as he should.

And let's not forget our buddy from the redskins. Can't remember his name, beeker or something like that. but he took a beating here as well during our game with RGIII and the redskins.

I grow really tired of this phenomenon, though. So many mentally weak snowflakes who are willing to say things anonymously, but not the same things in person. I, at least, am very "WYSIWYG" online (old web designer term), what you see is what you get. I don't know that I've ever said anything on this forum with my 33,521 posts and growing history that I wouldn't say to that person face-to-face, and I've said plenty of outrageous crap around here. Everyone who knows me well in real life knows I'm pretty blunt and will say things in general that many won't, though. I strive not to be a hypocrite; doesn't mean I always succeed certainly, but I at least make a good-faith effort about it, lol. I'm sure this will offend some people around here, but I don't generally respect you if I find out you're rather different in real life than on this forum.

I totally respect that Roland and I too am WYSIWYG...I hope I get the chance to meet you and many others here on the forum...one day! I have nothing to hide in this forum and have been fairly straight with people around here...so i get it. Offended..not even close.

I try to follow the mantra myself.
I see no reason for anyone to be offended by your statement, but then again it’s the internet so wouldn’t be surprised.

Biggest issue I see with a format like this is, nobody sees facial expressions or hears voice deflection while reading a few lines of text.

It’s easy to misunderstand what a person means when they say STFU or GTFOH unless you know that person’s style and are willing to take context into account.

Signed up to Seahawks seahawks98.com. back in the day and would lurk, was a full participating member of the Seahawks.com board then, yes they had one, it was bloody, messy and they hired outside Moderators and that eventually was it's undoing since they had no horse in the race and would allow anyone in.

I think it then changed to Seahawk99.com was still a lurker, think I may have posed once or twice, I think then it moved to Fanstops formatted system, was active there, the ,com board had all but fell apart and many of them migrated to Aros's haven, good and bad, after that, Scout boards where they if I remember pulled some shit as well onus and Aros once again saved the day creating a mirrored site for a while till we set up this format and this became home.

So been here a long time, Like a Booger on your finger they have tried many ways to shake us off and flick us away but stubborn and persistent we remain. So many members have passed on I can't remember them all off the top of my head, but if it were possible to have a family reunion we would need a small stadium.

This age of membership and time enjoys the blood, sweat, tears, and ultimately love Aros, Kidhawk, Hawkstorian, and every moderator over the years put into this place as well as the contributions of all of it's embodiment of members, last but not least, where Aros has been the Godfather, and founder, I want to say Les was the heart and heartbeat of this place for it's most transitional aspect, when it was the roughest, when it was the most unstable as far as will we survive, when the team was at its worst, all that. Many that had interactions with him know his value here and as a just great human being, many of the principles in place today are do to him and Aros and Kidhawk.

I'm kind of surprised that nobody mentioned the old .com board. That is where a lot of people came from. Many of us had been on both and when .com shut down the board, most came here and stayed. I can't say for sure when I started here, I think it was 99 or 2000.

When I visited Seattle in 1996, I then flew to Vegas to stay with a friend and his family. I'd met him on Echoes, the Pink Floyd mailing list. He barracked for the San Diego Chargers, and took me to a bar called Big Dogs at Sahara (I think that was the full name?), which was a Chargers bar. I lost contact with him many years ago, and shudder to think what he thinks of the Chargers now being in LA, and no idea if he follows the LV Raiders.

Ridiculous bit of utter trivia - that's where Alan Dean Foster (sci-fi author) lives. I used to be active on the ADF Message Board.

I like some of ADF books. He is out in his own little world and it is a fun world.

I have gone to a quite a few games with some of these humans, I went to the draft in Portland with some of them too...Rockhawk and a few others there. I thought it may be interesting to do and have enjoyed the experience. I have met some Hawkfans in several of the games and it is all over. I think I joined in 2010 after some issues in my life. I am stiill kicking. I dont know how..but I think there is a reason. We all keep each other going.....dont stop that. Keep your head above water and you dont drown. Keep your mind in gear and you provide intelligence to others. Keep your Joy to yourself and you will lose the moment. So spread the joy around. If you want to that is. I met some UK Seahawk fans in Jacksonville after the game there a few years back. See, it is all over. Sorry for the long post, but my mind was in gear. Peace. And GO HAWKS.

I actually started the website in 1976. I was working with Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Back then we had the Internet, but it went thru the military, and electronic mail took too long to talk about the game.

I would listen to the Seahawks game on my transister radio, which they found annoying since they were not into the sports. I would write my thoughts about the game on my personal computer, save it to a floppy disk, then give it to Paul to read on his computer.

This is how he became the GOAT Hawks owner, after Ken Behring of course. True story!

But seriously, I think I came here after the 2006 SB debacle to lick my wounds. Under a user name I can no longer remember. Of course 2013 was THE EPIC.

I spent WAY too much time lamenting the late PC coaching era. Prob Covid lockdown. But not as much as Fade. The amount of time and energy he spent could power a small city.

This is how I live my online life. How I choose to write my words on a keyboard truly reflects how I would speak in person. I don't see why so many people choose to act any differently. I don't find the anonymity behind a keyboard to be an excuse to act any differently than you would in person. Never understood that about human nature.

There are coupons on the back for 50 cents off of a Whopper, but you would have to tear up the picture. Plus, i went to BK, and they no longer honored them.
