You may want to check with your rep on that. Someone gets in a fight in your season ticket seats, YOU can lose your seats. Period. I've seen it already happen in our section.
But I don't use exchange, so it doesn't impact me. I'm extremely careful about who sits in my seats.
I'm def. curious though about what you're saying about ticket exchange.

I have, it was explicitly detailed out by my rep a few years ago. The NFL Ticket Exchange is a verified reseller, you are transferring all rights and responsibilities to the new ticket "owner". I wanted it in writing, because I have a PSL and didn't want exactly what you are describing to happen. This is only true if you use a verified reseller, and I think the NFL Ticket Exchange is the only verified reseller. I can't speak for your experience with what happened in your section, but I did the due diligence on my end.

That's the beauty of Ticket Exchange/ Ticketmaster. When you use the official resale portal, they are no longer considered "your seats." You don't sell your tickets to the buyer. You sell them to Ticket Exchange which then produces new tickets for the buyer. Any malfeasance becomes the responsibility of the buyer, and he will receive the ban for his poor behavior.

If you use any other site, the buyer will be using your ticket, and the team/ NFL will hold you responsible for his behavior, even though they can easily prove that you sold the ticket. I don't know if the concept of holding the STH liable has ever been litigated, but it would surprise me if it hasn't.

Until I hear differently from my rep, won't ever take that chance.
People have lost their seats over this. If you choose to not believe it, that's fine.

I was at the Vikings game last season and it was 50 percent Minnesota fans….thats appalling.

Too many Seahawks season ticket holders simply want to make a profit and not so much want to see a few seats to other Seahawks fans.

I can’t really blame them but if all they do is buy season tickets just to sell them to the whoever is the highest bidder and not actually have to intention to attend any (not a single home game) than why even bother being a season ticket holder.

We need real 12s back and not Niners fans, Packer fans, Cowboys fans, Minnesota fans, Bears fans, etc.

I transferred ownership of my season tickets since 2002 to my best friend so in a way I kept them "in the family". It's hard not to regurgitate many of the opinions expressed in this thread but I will say the team needs to get that winning percentage at home back up, pronto. Winning only 3 or 4 home games a year is appalling and has a direct effect on how many opposing team fans take over the stadium.

During the glory years we were winning the vast majority of our home games. It was damn near expected, even. Now it's a complete crap shoot if they will win at home. That needs to change.

It's really easy just to message them and ask, that's where I am getting my info.

I actually just did out of curiosity. Meh, not really gonna' impact me either way. I just care about who sits in my seats. I'm on my 33rd season as a STH. No way in hell I'm gonna' mess it up.

This guy is a hack.
I don’t know anything about him other than this video. But he did mention that same solution/idea about a Seahawk fan group ticket exchange like what you’d mentioned earlier. I think that’s a really cool idea.

Yeah, that's his schtick. He's known for ripping off other people's ideas for his videos. Not saying my idea was original, but you won't ever hear a unique idea from the guy.

I think Norbcam described the situation perfectly in this video and provided some really great counter points and potential solutions. Respect to this guy.

I am not a big Norbcam fan (I've always felt he was a bit of an overcooked ham) but he's dead accurate here. Very good takes. I think Seahawks corporate should watch that video.

I live in NY and I’m 8k away from getting tickets. In no way would I sell them to non Seahawk fans when I cant attend. Or at least try not to. But I guess I can’t now if they do this. I have family who could buy them but not all. But maybe I’ll just say f it and not buy them since I could only make 4 or 5 games a year at most.

I can think of a few reasons why fans are reselling their tickets:
  1. Regional economy is bad, and folks need $$$,
  2. Tickets are in such high demand, with high profits on selling, and folks' fleshes are weak.
  3. Products in the field aren't watchable.
(1) and (2) contradict each other, lol.

That’s the thing though Toffee and takes me back to my original point. I understand some people may think I sound like a moron or a complete a**hole, but the fact of the matter is, if times are really that tough, then don’t renew them! People who use these tickets and scalp them as a supplemental source of income are ruining the whole experience.

And I get other factors are at play, but bottom line, if it’s that big of a financial burden, don’t renew. It’s like these people that buy a $80k Ram 1500 because they “need” it, then they struggle with the payments and insurance shortly after. They’ll blame the dealership, the financial institution, the government, etc. Yet in reality, they should be taking accountability.

Side tangent, I know. It just irks me. I have no issue if people intend on giving them to family and friends and whomever. It’s just a game. But we as a fan base have earned the respect for being a good crowd. Having all these visitors makes us all look like a bunch of front runners when we don’t show up.

This is our house dammit! Let’s start acting like it!

RELEASE, WAIVER & COVENANT NOT TO SUE. On behalf of Holder and Holder’s Related Persons, Holder knowingly and voluntarily releases and covenants not to sue the Released Parties with respect to any claims that Holder or Holder’s Related Persons may now have or that hereafter accrue, whether known or unknown, against any of the Released Parties, that relate to any of the risks, hazards, and dangers described above or resulting from anything which has happened up to now, including any and all claims that arise out of or relate to Holder’s (i) entry into, or presence within or around, the Event (including all risks related thereto, including in parking areas or entry gates, or associated with locations near the field of play) or compliance with any rules, regulations, or protocols applicable to the Event; (ii) interaction with any personnel of any of the Released Parties at the Event, or (iii) exposure to COVID-19, in each case whether caused by any action, inaction or negligence of any Released Party or otherwise. Holder agrees that Holder will not attend the Event if, under applicable guidelines in effect at the time of the Event, it is recommended that Holder stay at home, quarantine, and/or isolate (e.g., as a result of testing positive, developing symptoms, or exposure to COVID-19).
These Terms are intended to be interpreted to the broadest extent permitted by law. If any part of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, then that part is to be construed by modifying it to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the rest of the Terms shall remain in full force and effect as written. “Including” means “including, without limitation.” In the event of conflict between these Terms and any other terms related to the Holder’s use of this ticket, these Terms shall supersede and govern to the extent of such conflict.

Severability Clause
If any provision of this revocable license is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it shall be deemed severed and not affect the enforceability of any other provisions, which shall be enforced as if the revocable license did not contain the invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision.

I'm curious about the legality of this. Once a person buys something, it becomes their personal property. What business is it of the seller what he/she does with it so long as it doesn't involve something illegal? Perhaps that's why the letter is so vaguely worded.

It would seem to me that there would be other ways to regulate the re-sale of season tickets, such as limiting the number purchased by an individual or entity to 4.
Anything can be sold with stipulations.

It’s a matter of a simple contract.
All they have to do is write up the agreement/contract and apply the stipulations at renewal time.

Renew or don’t if you aren’t willing to agree.

I’m not defending the process, only stating that if done correctly it would be perfectly legal.

IIRC, Ferrari is an example.
They have a significant list of things you can/can not do with the half million dollar car you “own”.

You don't sound like a moron or a complete a**hole. Over 10-13 years while waiting, a lot of things can change to affect a person's financial situation. COVID, for instance. If you are a Seahawks fan going through tough financial times, and you think that in a year or two you'll be 'okay' again, why would you give up your seats and get back in that 10-13 year wait line?

I think NFL tickets, like most pro sports tickets, are priced for the wealthy and for corporations. If a 'less wealthy' fan can afford to go to half of their games by selling the other half of their tickets, I'm not going to give them grief. Perhaps some of us would like it better if the Seahawks could treat season ticket purchases like a credit application and deny them to the poorer fans.
