He ABSOLUTELY deserves our respect and appreciation, even in spite of the last couple years of his tenure.

You are correct, but he was 1 and 1, because he allowed a bonehead series at the end of the NE game. They wasted clock, strolled down to the EZ, then had to hurry at the end. Far from being cool and calm, the offense was frenetic. Rewatch the last drive, and see if you see wasted time, plays coming in late. Pete was so afraid of Brady having too much time, the Seahawks didn't have enough of it.

I agree completely. And I'll add to your remarks by saying that Pete seems like a genuine good guy.

But I don't think it's a show of disrespect to ask that we wait a little longer before inviting him back to raise the 12th man flag. As a rule, there's a period of several years before most former coaches and players, even ones as notable as Pete Carroll, are invited back to raise the flag.
