If Jones and/or Kight prove to be all that, we should be able to easily trade Cross for a nice bevy of picks.
I like how you think.

Also, reading how good of shape we're in cap wise just makes me so thankful that John yanked the bandaid off with Jamal Adams and ate that 20+ million dead cap hit in '24 and got it over with.

The Raiders would be looking at value charts if they trade him
Would they take Cross for him?

Left Tackle Miller is their longest tenured player, and spent a lot of the year on IR. He was replaced, poorly, by Stone Hands Forsythe. Granted Miller is still probably their best player on the line. They have a rookie behind Forsythe, but he couldn’t earn the starting position over him.

Perhaps they could put Cross at right tackle, though his contract might be too rich for that spot. They do need to replace Glazers

Win forever is not possible, but if you can draft superb replacements for players in their prime and trade your prime guys you can get pretty close.

Lovely news, and great value honestly for a left tackle. He's solid and has performed well across 3 different coordinators.

When you've got a good left tackle, you lock 'em down. Simple as that. Glad we didn't screw around with it.

Cross was already signed for 2026 so this is effectively a 5-year $122M contract that replaces the 1-year $17.56M 5th year option.

Going rate these days. Glad they locked him up. And the way the cap jumps every year now, this needed to be done.
