I bet you a beer, and I'll gladly pay up!Who bet me?
I'm wondering if the union will file a grievance over this as it does fall under the league's personal conduct policy.

On an appeal, what is his defense?Wow Lawyered up and had a Statement by Monday afternoon, during the Christmas week no less, there is more to come I am sure, especially since there was also an incident in Seattle.
The NFL suspended DK for interaction with fans detrimental to the league, his story though is still a work in process, and he has yet to appeal.
I am about done with this internal BS. I think there has to be some outside redress! The league is a joke. Hall suspended 1 day and DK 2 days?
Wait, you didn't think he'd at least be fined? You didn't see the video, I guess.I bet you a beer, and I'll gladly pay up!

The fan said mean things to me, hurt my feelings so it was my right to go out of my way to go up to the person and elevate the incident
No, I thought, or rather felt, that he should be fined but not be suspended. And yes, I saw the video.Wait, you didn't think he'd at least be fined? You didn't see the video, I guess.
Overkill. On an appeal, what is his defense?

I want a beer. LOLI completely agree with your first two paragraphs. I was giving an explanation for Metcalf's action, not an excuse for them.
But I wouldn't be so certain that Metcalf will get suspended. There was no physical harm done to the fan, and going by the "it takes two to Tango" logic, the fan has a certain degree of responsibility for the incident, too. I see no reason to penalize not only Metcalf, but as you said, punish his team as well by sidelining a big part of their offense when they need him the most, ie down the stretch run to the playoffs.
I'll bet anyone in here a beer that Metcalf doesn't get suspended over this.![]()
Like he got to close to the cage and the lion grabbed him
Good question!I bet you a beer, and I'll gladly pay up!

Not me. I thought you were right on as to how the league would respond.Who bet me?
He lawyered up because he knew the past incident where that jackwagon was REPORTED by DK to security would be brought up.Wow Lawyered up and had a Statement by Monday afternoon, during the Christmas week no less, there is more to come I am sure, especially since there was also an incident in Seattle.

What's interesting is that DK reported this SAME FAN last year to security. On an appeal, what is his defense?
The fan said mean things to me, hurt my feelings so it was my right to go out of my way to go up to the person and elevate the incident
I am old, and my brain's old school. I had no problem with DK's action if the fan had been harassing him for a prolonged period of time.On the flip side, the thing that annoys me about this is that back in the day, if some a-hole fan had the balls to verbally assault a Dick Butkus or another player from that era, there would be no story if they got punched for their BS. And most everyone would look at it as though the fan got exactly what he deserved.
Its some lame shhht that a fan can stand safely in their section and hurl insults all game at another human being.
I'm with you on the gutteral level. But these guys are making so much money now that I think they can learn to suck it up. You know the league office is going to play the pristine game, which is sick enough in itself. LOLI am old, and my brain's old school. Not just fans, but players are humans with feelings. The league and security failed to protect fans and players.I'm with you on the gutteral level. But these guys are making so much money now that I think they can learn to such it up.
I can see it from all sorts of different angles. People all the way around don't have to be so effed up. My partner always says just do the right thing. Everybody. Not just fans, but players are humans with feelings. The league and security failed to protect fans and players.
Shaq Lawson was only fined an undisclosed amount by the bills for shoving an eagles fanSince it is a Detroit fan it should only have been 1 game. If it had been a Philly fan it should have been zero games and a bonus.
