I'm good with that. He's currently doing a hell of a job. But he has had several head scratchers this year. Including game 1 vs. Detroit. Keeping Kirby in there was beyond stupid.

Look, I don't like Wilson as a manager at all. But.........these last 3 playoff wins, he's been pretty damn good.
I already made a proclamation, and I'll stick to it. IF the Mariners win the WS, I'll wear a t-shirt that says "I'm sorry, Dan Wilson"

I'm not going to tell you how-to fan, but Dan is the man!
He got us this far and likely further than any manager we have had.
How about the job Jerry Dipoto has done? I love the guy and believe
in what he is doing, I have defended both the whole way.
It's not easy to put together a great franchise in Seattle, some said it
never could be done (winning a WS) and we may not just yet, I can see
we are building up to have more chances than ever before to do it.

I feel like Dan is still learning the ropes of being clutch, as in the art of successfully navigating situational baseball, however, no manager is going to be 100% in decision making. You can always make good decisions on paper but if players cant execute or stumble, it can make those decisions look poor.

But I’m glad we got the Tigers in the ALDS you could tell Wilson while not necessarily emulating Hinch. There was a sense that Dan was learning quite a bit in terms of how to play the high-stakes chess match just watching Hinch go about his business as a guy thats been there before, a lot. And because of that series, Dan is a better manager now than he was two weeks ago before the ALDS.

I'm not sure if this article has been posted or not, but here's some info on Bryan Woo:

"All reports have been good, as we had expected, and (he) continues to make his progression,” Wilson said. “Obviously, the live (at-bats Monday) was a big step for him. He felt pretty good yesterday. I think he’s going to get out and throw a little bit today. Getting him back, one of the guys that has really led this staff this year, obviously, will be huge for us, whatever that looks like as we get into the later part of this series. But getting him back and getting him healthy is the key.”

Woo has recently hit a couple of important benchmarks as he works his way back from the pec injury. He threw a bullpen session prior to Seattle’s ALDS Game 5 win Friday, and Monday he tossed a live batting practice to Mariners hitters before Game 2 of the ALCS in Toronto.

“The live went great. I think just slowly trying to build over the last couple weeks, like I said, do it the right way,” Woo said Tuesday. “Obviously, frustrating not being out there, but everything looks good, feels good so far. I’ll be ready to go whenever my name gets called.”

Best Case Scenario that I’m hoping happens is that Mariners can run up the score real early tomorrow and Woo just can make a 2-3 inning relief appearance without high stakes to get him back in the groove, and then he’d be available to start a game 7 if need be and all goes well physically speaking.

For the World Series if we get there, knock on wood, my starters would be Kirby, Castillo, and Woo. With Gilbert and Miller coming out of the pen just being able to go all out with their nastiest stuff as they both have killer breaking stuff and fastballs that should be able to run in the high 90’s in short work.

Although if the Mariners wanted to just continue with their 4 man rotation and just utilize Woo out of the pen like Dodgers have done with Sasaki… id be cool with that. Woo is a gamer and our most competitive pitcher this year in terms of attacking batters and he hardly gives up free bases and being able utilize him multiple times for an inning or two when you want him to throughout a series could be beneficial in getting out of shit or controlling the game.

Here's two things I'd consider with regard to Bryan Woo.

Bring him in during the middle of the game either at the start of an inning or when there are no runners on base, preferably in a situation where we have at least a 3-run lead. Put as little pressure on him as we can. Put him on a pitch count, say 30 pitches.

If we win Game 3, then consider starting him in Game 4, saving Castillo for a possible Game 5. In that situation, even if we lose, the odds of Toronto winning 4 straight are pretty damn slim. And if he does pitch well, we win and earn a trip to the World Series, he can share in the glory that he richly deserves. If I'm Woo, I'd jump at that opportunity.

I'm sure that Dan Wilson is considering those options and perhaps a few others. I'm good with how he decides to play it.
