Cal is undoubtedly tired and beaten up. Throw in he's been overswinging at the plate again, and he's in a bit of a funk. With Ford up, maybe we get Cal another rest day per week and let him settle down a bit and maybe he picks up a bit in September. Ford has been bashing in AAA for a while, so maybe he can hit big league pitching. Hope so. Garve is about what you'd expect from a backup catcher, but that's not much.

Yeah for the most part, he just doesn’t seem like the same player since the all star break.

He’s been an all or nothing player, out or home run.

I’m a huge Cal fan, but unless he breaks Mantle’s record for most HR’s by a switch hitter, Judge should win the MVP. Judge’s OPS is nearly 200 points higher. It M’s miss the playoffs then just give the award to Judge.

I'd be content at this point if he reached 57. Still a good story.

Imagine Suarez going on a bit of a HR tear and Schwarber (Phil) and Ohtani (LAD) experiencing a drought. That would mean Cal and Suarez as #1 and #2 in the entire majors for most HRs. How hilarious would that be?

I still like that they put Ford in for the last innings. He didn't get to bat, but good to give him some reps to gain familiarity with a couple of the pitchers.

No doubt. Once it was 10 zip, I'm thinking...let the kid play. Plus, Cal could use the rest.

I'd just be happy if Suarez made contact at this point. Love the guy, but he is a strikeout machine. Swings at horrible pitches on the regular.

It’s almost like that’s why they traded him the first time.
