Cal breaks the single season HR record for catchers.

I know it's still early, and no way does he hit the 66 he's on pace for at the moment. However, the record for catchers is 48, set by Salvador Perez for the Royals in 2021. Thoughts?

Also, I know I probably have a reputation for being down on the Mariners. That isn't because I don't root for them. I just refuse to be disappointed again, so I keep expectations lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut so they can't disappoint me.

The ballpark matters, if he played in Yankee stadium then yes absolutely
with no doubt.
In fact, I think he would do 60 plus playing for the Yankees in that baby park.

I say no. If the players around him don't hit he will just start getting pitched around a lot more. Our hitters do tend to pick it up towards the back half of the year so it's possible. T-Mobile isn't a hitters park. I agree with I think he can hit 40, but the hitters around him will hold him back a little bit.
