Last week he sucked and we should have cut him. Same with Darnold and Kubiak.

Now they’re good so we should keep them.

Basically summarizes this sub the past couple weeks.

"weeks"!???

Darnold was not good today, or last week for the most part. He was 2/2 today, which equals 0. The advantage is that Rogers was 1/1, so Darnold was twice as good as Rogers. (See how that works?)
K9 was as good today as he ever was. Charbs was good too, just not on every down when he had nowhere to go. They really did a good job of being the 1-2 punch for awhile there, which set up some nice plays for Kupp and NJigba. The main thing about the game today is that except for two or three plays our D was lights out terrific.
We really need some work on our ST play schemes. We are giving up way too much yardage on returns.

Walker tends to either get you the big play or get you near nothing.

Today he was consistently getting 6-9 yds. Still dancing behind the line, but the Steelers were not making him pay for it this game.
Likely because they were so depleted on defense, their pursuit wasn't there. But Walker was having one of those good games he is prone to have now and then (every 3rd game?).
The problem is that he is just as prone to 'bad games'. He is not consistent.

Charbs is usually consistent, just not usually good. And today Charbs was slow and bad. It was great fortune that Walker was having a good game today (evident early) because Charbs was so disappointing (maybe his pass pro is good?)
I have to assume they are trying to lower the pitch count on Walker so he stays healthy but we can't take too many games with Charbs playing like he did today.

Needs to be more consistent game in game out. Needs to reduce the amount of one yard no yard gains. As of now he can be good, but can also be ineffective

He looked real good.

We also blocked a lot better today..

Fingers crossed he stays healthy. Nothing wrong with having two horses back there.

Darnold was pretty damn solid today

The early pick was bad, the other not super his fault, and he was clutch in the 2nd half

I

Um, he was NAILS in the 2nd half. I swear, it would physically hurt some of you to just give a player some credit. Where was Charbs today?? He did nothing.
Charbs had some good runs but the majority of his calls were up the gut, but the gut was closed.
Darnold was very fortunate the refs gave him benefit of the doubt for several grounding throws, and some dangerous ones into opposing players that could easily have been tipped up to become additional ints. He was even trying to throw the ball THROUGH defensive linemen right in his face. Very lacking in polish for an NFL QB today. Yes, he for sure made some good plays, but he seemed to be trying his best to balance those with poor plays. The saving grace is that we got some running game success.
