Allen and Hurts will probably pass him eventually. He doesn't have the wheels he used to, but he might catch Vick if he plays long enough.
I think he's done after this season, an old QB on his 4th team in a
short period of years doesn't look good.
He could look good enough to pick up a backup job next season, I just
don't think his ego will accept signing as a backup.
He won't be in the top 3-4 for long, Allen/Hurts will blow past that.

One wonders how his career would have been if we handed the ball to Lynch and he scores, does LOB stay together longer, does Wilson decide to stay within the system and not be ME3, does Lynch stay with the team for a couple more years. One play and a lot of what if's.
The LOB stayed together about as long as possible. Kam had injuries, Sherm injured, and ET just started to lose his top knock ability, and also just fell apart mentally

I'm constantly perplexed by the people here who don't want to hear about other teams. The OP here is talking about an interesting topic. If you aren't interested, then don't read it. I think most of us find things going on with other teams to be topics worth discussing. Jaxon Dart is having a good preseason and creating a QB controversy in NY.

Don't hijack threads to post your irrelevant comments or just to say you don't care.
I get it though we start off talking bout Russ then that leads to short jokes next thing someone compares him to Donald Duck then all of sudden it’s all about your favorite Saturday cartoon which makes me think about breakfast cereal,,, gotta go Cinnamon Toast Crunch that’s best breakfast cereal hands down….

What were we taking about?

It's possible life will come full circle for Russ soon. As we all know, Russ was drafted to be groomed to maybe one day take over for the newly signed Matt Flynn, but Pete surprised everyone and named him the starter and the rest is history (a mostly good history).

But now, the Giants, who signed Russ to be the starter, and drfated Jaxson Dart to be groomed as his possible successor, may well flip the script here too. Dart is playing lights out and Russ is playing, well, like Russ. Funny how things can work out.
The crazy thing was how Matt Flynn’s was heir apparent and then just disappeared into thin air

If you value Ryan Fitzpatrick's opinion(I certainly don't) he was heard expounding on Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart on the hot mic in the pregame show.

"I don't like his release, I think it's slow...Giants fans shouldn't be excited at all."

Maybe Tommy Devito will be that Giants saviour dude.

I think "the gang" being LOB, RW, Lynch, Baldwin would have stayed in harmony longer and even one more Super Bowl. But this was a volatile bunch and eventually things would come apart. I think Unger leaving in exchange for Graham is the "pivotal" moment. My opinion is the trade was not logical. The Seahawks offense needed a big, physical blocking tight end and they went for the opposite.

Everything unraveled at that point. I'm sorry I'm way off topic here who is Dart?

You don't get to tell everyone how to respond to a thread. The back and forth is what a message board is about.
You miss the point. If you don't like a thread, move on. You don't jump on to chastise people for expressing interest in a topic. Unless you're simply trying to pick a fight.

Totally agree about the Unger trade. Pete always loved the "big" receivers, but he didn't always grab the best talent. The O-line was never the same after that, and our receiving corps didn't get the bump he wanted.

Wow. We all get so sensitive around here. Soul is right threads go sideways cause people are talking just like a real conversation. But also believer has a legit point that threads do get convoluted by side talk. But hey we’re all brothers and sisters here Go hawks!!!

It was a big surprise that the Giants signed him.
I wasn't surprised at all, bc the Giants absolutely needed someone besides Tommy Davito there, and Aaron Rodgers was just stringing them along. Picking Dart on the 1st round seemed like a stretch at the time, but maybe not, he has been showing he has the potential to maybe be a franchise QB.

I think dart could take Russ’s job right now. And who would you keep then, Russ or jamies

Flynn showed a lot of potential when he stepped in a few times for Aaron Rodgers with the Packers. Kudos to Pete and John for recognizing pretty quickly that he was really not that good, and they got rid of him quickly. But yeah, just 2 years after his stint with us, he was out of the league, not even sticking around as a backup anywhere, and that was surprising.

Definitely Russ. Russ may be a has-been but Jameus is a never-was, and his greatest claim to fame was being an interception machine.

I agree but I also consider that Russ losing his job might make him a miserable teammate, not sure how he would handle truly losing his throne. At least Jameis is acquainted with being #2. Russ is still #1 to Russ
