It's possible life will come full circle for Russ soon. As we all know, Russ was drafted to be groomed to maybe one day take over for the newly signed Matt Flynn, but Pete surprised everyone and named him the starter and the rest is history (a mostly good history).

But now, the Giants, who signed Russ to be the starter, and drfated Jaxson Dart to be groomed as his possible successor, may well flip the script here too. Dart is playing lights out and Russ is playing, well, like Russ. Funny how things can work out.

The mob is still angry. You should have put this in the NFL Forum instead.

It makes for a decent over/under bet as to when Dart replaces RW as the starting QB this season. Giants have a pretty tough schedule looking at it. I could see the over/under at something like 9.5 games. Complete guess there. Really no idea.

Dart is presently looking like the best of all rookie QBs. Russ has completed one great moonball pass to seal up his starting status. Not sure how long that can last.
NGL, that moonball did look good.

Just for fun, I looked up Darnold's deep throw stats from last season:

Sam Darnold’s deep throw yards per catch last season (2024) were exceptional. On passes traveling 20+ yards in the air, he gained 1,023 yards on 28 completions, which calculates to an average of about 36.5 yards per catch. This figure was the highest among NFL quarterbacks for deep throws in the 2024 season, putting him at the top of the league in this category.

In summary, Sam Darnold led all quarterbacks with the highest average yards per catch on deep throws last season—36.5 yards per completion.

So Sam can sling it deep. Just wait until defenses start loading the box against this run game.

The Russ - Dart, and the Darnold/Lock - Milroe. Two situations connected by a common thread - John Schneider.

How many times do they allow Russ to miss his first second and third read and then run around in a circle behind the oline and take a sack before Dart is named starter? I say week 3....
I'm guessing he's done in week 6 with that floating moonball.
