Is there anything tempering expectations/concerns going into the season?

I can't help but be excited about the season ahead after the last 2 games. We look like we have an offensive identity for once and the o-line may actually be respectable, if not good for the first time in a long time.

Is there anything you see in the team that still worries you?

For me it's special teams (the last 2 games and last season were a bit concerning), linebacker/corner depth and more an open question but will the offense system stay effective for the whole season (we saw it work well for 3/4 of a season under Schotty before it fell apart).

I'm sure there will also be growing pains at times for the 2 guards and center at times as they learn.

Tempting: a 14 or a 15 wins season?
Concerns: Would we hurt Darnold's feelings if we start Milroe?

Other than my crippling inclination to not be optimistic because I fear disappointment?

Nope.

Should be a fun year, although I do tend to think Zabel will do as all rooks do and struggle at times (which is fine). His Pre has been so good that many of us here are acting like he’s ready for the pro bowl NOW.

Aaah, makes more sense then. But still, he goes back and forth ALL THE TIME. But he seems to be above criticism, often.

Loved on field Sherm. Off field? Meh.

The Seattle Kraken Mascot says "hold my beer"

He literally got chased by a grizzly bear.

I don't have any trepidation about game 1 but some bulletin board material never hurts.

This is hilarious, looks like someone is prepping the excuses already.

Sorry "JaketheSnake", if the Whiners come in and lose to the Seahawks in their first game with a new offense, new QB, new starting receivers, "one of the worst offensive lines in the league" etc etc and all of the things we've been hearing from the media about how much we suck...…then I don't wanna hear a dang thing from Whiners fans.

But now I know the excuses are already queued up.

Sheesh.

When the f*ck did Sherman say that?

Before or after he interviewed Darnold?

That is quite the trash talk from a Seahawks fan.

Think that quote is old. It was from when he was actually playing for the 9ers
Ah ha! That makes more sense.

It would've helped if there was a date in that to let us know that he was playing for the Niners back then.

Niners have one of the easiest schedules in the history of the NFL. Oh, we will be hearing from them, a LOT.

Darnold. QB play is everything. We go as far as he can carry us.
Exactly.

This is why this system by Kubiak will be put to the test 'cause if it works out like we saw in the preseason game, Darnold and the Seahawks are going to be just fine.

Our corners are a huge concern for me. They just don’t seem to have the ability to cover much of anything. Even Spoon looks lost out there at times in coverage.

Interior linebacker depth is just as big an issue. If Knight can’t get right and if Jones goes down for any period of time, this defense will get exposed over the middle very quickly.

Love the new scheme. I need to see what happens on 3rd and 10 though.

I think the system is designed to depend less on star-level talent on the skill position players and more on the capabilities/talent and discipline on the line to block well. That actually gives me hope, because I think the O-line will make a quantum leap in performance this season. If they do well, we won't need "superstar" performances from the QB/RB/WR groups to win a normal game.
