I'll be interested in how Lock/Milroe play. If Milroe is consistent enough, that might make Lock dispensable. If Lock plays well enough it might make him tradeable.

In the first scenario, we gain a roster spot; in the latter we get an asset.

And make toffee a sad old man.

Pre season kickoff is currently a little over 24 hours away! Huzzah!!

For tomorrow’s game, which player or players do you plan to keep a close eye on? Somebody that might be on the bubble and you’re curious what they can contribute, or maybe some position battle between a couple guys you’re interested in?

Low hanging fruit regarding this discussion will be Jalen Milroe. We’ve talked about him a ton on here, and we should get a long look at him in some game action tomorrow. If he’s your choice, let it be heard.

For me, I’ll stick with the offensive side of the ball and go with Damien Martinez. I really want to know what this kid can do. It’ll be sort of a crapshoot behind backup linemen, but he should get plenty of opportunities.

Second guy for me is Bobo. Honestly, considering the buzz around Horton and other receivers on the depth chart, this is truly a make it or break it pre season for Bobo imo.

How about you folks?
Robbie Ouzts! I want to see the Full Backs and tight ends. Show me it’s time to open up holes in the run game.

Beat me to it. What Im most interested about him is how they intend on using him.
won't see much this game, other than wanting to see how his intensity is in in line blocking and if he can catch out of the back field. I expect him to spread out in the offense and be in a double TE type set as well, doubt we see much of that. We also won't see the starting O line as a unit so hard to get a gauge how that will be improved other than scheme possibly. Mostly it will be seeing how a lot of these first year guys handle their introduction to 2nd gear speed in the NFL, 1st gear practice, second gear preseason, third gear regular season and 4th gear playoffs, speed and physicality steps up every gear.

Is Tyreke Smith finally not injured??

Can Horton return kicks? (Also, related; based on that depth chart upthread, who is Steven Sims??)

Who picks up the slack at RB due to the ACL gods claiming another unfortunate victim?

And yeah, bring on the rookie class and the UDFAs, there’s always one that makes the team from nowhere

All of them..there's a part of me who strongly would love to see our backups destroy Pete's starters...one can fantasize you know!

I don't want to risk Horton as a return guy. Wish Sims wasn't knocked so he could do his thing for that spot. Sims is a player, Swiss army knife type.

Already had Kiero Small, Troymaine Pope, but no mention of Sean Salisbury unretiring for preseason. Going back a ways, but anyone remember what a preseason phenom he was for the Seahawks?

OK, for this game, my player to watch is Trevone Boykin. Trying to find the link for his Beat-a-ho webcam, since he was out of prison at last check.
