It is impossible not to be excited about the potential of Milroe. Yeah - he is a rookie - yeah last year wasn't great for him. Yeah he made some inexplicably bad throws in college.

But DAMN. The sheer athletic ability just jumps of the screen. AND - he seems like a truly decent guy. Every interview is better than the last.

I know I am overly optimistic about the guy. Sue me.

Kubiak is salivating about using Milroe right out of the gate I bet. I like Darnold a lot but we would be foolish not to sprinkle in some plays for Milroe just to keep him loose and ready. Darnold is good but in terms of long term future it’s Milroe to JSN and Arroyo

It's encouraging that we've had three consecutive days of reports saying Milroe looks like a real quarterback (versus a rookie looking completely lost or spraying balls all over the ground). Darnold is obviously 100% the starter, but it's not hard to look ahead and imagine what Milroe looks like a year from now the way he is working.

Excited to see both guys in the preseason.

Yeah, I've been scrubbing the internet for any bit of news, and it's pretty quiet. A few random things from Hawkblogger (Youtube) that caught my eye. Jalen Sundell getting time at RG, Darnold getting the ball out quicker than he did in minicamps, and Milroe working through his progressions (and making the throw on the third read). The latter sounds to me like Milroe carried through with Jayden Daniels VR technique, otherwise I'm not sure how he'd demonstrate this on Day #1 but who knows. Corbin Smith and Rob Rang said Kenneth Walker looks better conditioned that they'd ever seen him. I think they said something about his legs looking jacked and being the best athlete on the field.
When hawkblogger said he’s rooting hard for the raiders, I stopped listening to his blog. The guy is the president of the Geno fan club.

Ugh, yeah I saw the video where he said that. That was really cringe-worthy, and his co-hosts reacted as such. I mean it's fine if fans want Carroll to have some success, but his reason seemed much more about Geno hyped up into something he's not.

I thought the tweet from Max Crosby was funny after they acquired Geno. Might be the first time I ever heard excitement like that about anything regarding Geno Smith lol

That Seattle Seahawks training camp kicked off today . I thought there would be a little more buzz around here .

Any word ? No news is good news ?
Hey, if the "Rumor" that you heard wasn't started by me, then just ignore it. ;-)

I'm rooting for Pete and the Raiders to have moderate success, after their preseason loss to the Seahawks.
I'm still a Pete Carroll fan, and Pete has reinvented himself and adjusted his approach multiple times over his career. Carroll's reinvention of himself led the Seahawks to 2 Super Bowls and the SB48 win.

Will Pete show he's learned some new tricks in Vegas, or same old Pete that got dumped?
Maybe not be irrationally loyal to underperforming coordinators?
Maybe adjust defensive schemes to actually have a good defense again? Having Maxx Crosby doesn't hurt.
Maybe an OC that doesn't create situations that lead to Geno throwing a bunch of Red Zone picks?

I had a similar thought.

He HAD to use his vaca to reflect on what went right , what went wrong and what needed to be done to not make the same mistakes .

Or did he ?

It's hard to argue with PC and what he was able to accomplish while in the PNW.
I do wish him well . In the end , I think he'll improve the Raiders only to be let down by G Smith

Pete will certainly bring an increase of success to the Raiders - but even he cannot mend what is wrong at the core.
