Packersnation has been sent packing permanently. That’s the kind of opposing fans who tend to burn out their welcome reallllllly quick. It’s clear his intention was the troll. Well.. can go elsewhere to do that
awww. But he was so amusing, like a talking dog.

Is it time to sign Brandon Scherff yet? PFF projects that he will sign a one-year deal for about $5-6 million. We can afford that.

It's not about affordability, it's about necessity. We are stacked at G positions, an old player will only delay the development of our young Gs

Stacked? It may be the weakest position on the team, along with center. The interior line needs help. Our choices at right guard are abysmal. Praying for a miraculous improvement by the players we had last year at that position is not a plan.

I formed my opinions based on the actions taken by our front office and coaching staff this offseason, they did not believe our IOL needs a major transfusion of talent.

We had two teams that suffered from protection issues. Chicago Bears' 2024 OL was rated at #24 by PFF, and ours at #31. The solutions by the coaching staff and front office of the franchises were polar opposite.

Bears
They identified the IOL as the problem and they signed FA IOL players to improve their line.
Signed:
Drew Dalman C, 3 years, $42 million PFF 78.8
Jonah Jackson G, $12.5 mil PFF 67.5
Joe Thuney G, $35 mil PFF 79.9
Drafted:
2nd round 56th Ozzy Trapilo OT
6th round 195th Luke Newman OT

Hawks
We identify the culprits as Geno Smith, SK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett. All gone from the organization, cleansed. We didn't sign any IOL of note, but we used our 1st-round pick on a versatile 5-position lineman.
We signed:
Josh Jones OT 1 year, $4.75 million, PFF 43.2. A true low-end journeyman.
Drafted:
1st 18th Grey Zabel G
6th 192th Bryce Cabeldue OT
7th 234th Mason Richman OT

See the differences? We went to the root cause and pulled rotten teeth. The Bears? Bandaids. The two Schneiders, Macdonald, and Kubiak all have great confidence in our IOL.

Am I missing something? Are you serious when you say that DK, Geno and Lockett were the issues for OL or are you being facetious?

Not me, I infer from actions of this off season.

Depends on o-line development and run game. They keep saying how much this new offense is reliant on a strong run game.

I don't expect Darnold to have a better year than he did last season. He'll be a streaky QB with inconsistencies is my prediction. He'll need that run game to keep the pressure off of him.

Gun to my head, I think they underperform from a fantasy and stats perspective and will be a bit boring to watch for the average fan - but that they'll be cleaner and more fundamentally sound than we've seen in a decade.

I chose 16-25. I think their numbers will be worse because I think they're going to run the piss out of it for 3.8-4 yards a pop until the train picks up some momentum, which it will.

I'm looking at 2026 as the year that the offense pops.

Going by some of the podcasts RG is still an issue. Bradford is doing well run blocking but supposedly struggling big time at pass blocking. Haynes has been a disappointment in camp. I'm sure they'll give it a couple of preseason games but wouldnt shock me if they try trade for a veteran there.

Sounds like the left sound of the o-line looks decent though and Lucas looks healthy. Olu has claimed the center spot. Cabeldue the 5th rounder hasn't really had a good camp yet.

I'll reserve real judgement till after a few preseason games. Some dudes just perform when it matters, hopefully we see some of that fire outside of practice. I know I dogged a lot of practice sessions, but could flip a switch when it counted.

Word from camp is Haynes continues to get pushed around and physically dominated - similar to what was reported last season. Was hoping he'd take the next step under new coaching, but so far it's not a good look for a 3rd rd pick.

I feel like this offense has a better chance of real unity and an identity. I think that our best players are concerned with the team first and this team will be less selfish and play for each other. This team is building a culture and chemistry of blue collar fight you kinda stuff and you can really win any given Sunday if you play like that

I put 16-25 but a lot of unknowns I think 26-32 is more likely than 10-16, but I like what we have done with the D (hopefully top 10) so overall so can't see us looking at an early draft pick next year.
  • Will Darnold play like least season or was his marked improvement due to being on the Vikings and we end up with the Darnold of the Jets and Panthers?
  • Will an aging Kuppp see a similar performance to last year or regress significanty,
  • Will anyone rise up as a decent WR3?
  • Fant was not worth his salary, Barner and Arroyo are much cheaper but will they be able to perform?
  • Will we find a servicable RG? (or centre for that matter)
  • We all hope Zabel will be a stud but how long will it take to adapt to the NFL?
  • How much will we be affected buy injuries?

We haven't upgraded at any of the skill positions on offense. So really, the improvement really depends on the O-line taking a step forward.

I'm not that optimistic that the O-line will be substantially better, but there are several reasons why that could be the case. First, a new OC and new line coach could make a difference. That's happened with other teams. Second, having a healthy Lucas for the whole year would be a huge upgrade over the players who took his place last year. Lucas only played 7 games last year, and even when he played he wasn't completely healthy. Third, if Grey Zabel can play a competent left guard--and that's big if--then that will be a big step toward making the line better.

MM has said things are starting to come into focus with the OL but wants to wait until the 1st or 2nd preseason game to name starters. Sounds like Bradford is our best run-blocker at RG but still struggles some in PP.
Sundell getting time at both C & RG must mean he's either in direct competition for a starting job at one or a back up at both positions.
It's hard to speculate right now but it's disappointing that more names aren't in the competition.

I am having a hard time believing the rumor.
