Tory Horton is definitely an intriguing pick. In 2023, he had 96 receptions and over 1100 yards and 8 TDs, and a similar year in 2022. So the guy has production as well as the measurables--6'2", 195 lbs, and a 4.4 40 at the combine (but 4.3 before the injury).

Early mock drafts before his injury had him going in the first round:
And he has a wide receiver name Tori holt I mean Horton

He’s got all the intangibles you want at the position but he isn’t fleet of foot and Horton runs a 4.4 and is 6-2”. Bobo would lose a foot race to some O lineman. He’s slower than molasses we just need guys that can stretch the field and separate a little better. Keep Bobo on the practice squad for now. We got Kupp, JSN, MVS and Horton for top 4. Bobo will have to beat out a few other dudes that are faster to snag that 5th spot
I’m hoping that bobo makes some huge strides this year. Sometimes I think fleetness of foot is not always the only way. Bobo has overcome his lack of speed and he has a physicality to him where I don’t think he needs to be faster he needs to fight. I would love to see bobo be the dirty physical enforcer who wins by force and not finesse

Both Olu and Bradshaw are entering their 3rd year. Completely agree that it takes olinemen 2-3 years to “pop” as you stated. This line is ready for the next step.
LT- 4th year (cross)
LG- rookie (Zabel)
C- 3rd year (Olu)
RG- 3rd year (Bradshaw)
RT- 4th year (Lucas)
I suspect I could learn to love that line.

He should be this guy.

Not the fastest WR, but have reliable hands, run good routes, and put dudes on the ground.

According to that “way too early” mock draft from May 2024, the Seahawks got three guys originally mocked in the first round.
Jalen Milroe at pick 5
Tory Horton at pick 28
Ricky White at pick 30

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm……
So you're saying that we actually got 4 first rounders in this year's draft. Nice.

I read an article a while back about how the early mock drafts are actually more accurate, before everyone starts to over-think things and pay too much attention to what happens at the combine and mess things up. A good example of that is someone like Jared Verse, who was projected to be a top-5 pick early on, but by the time the draft came around, he dropped and was mocked as a late first-round pick, eventually going at #19.

Wouldn't that be the opposite of your point? Mocked top 5 early on but went 19?

The adverse still works. Was supposed touted as top of the round talent, but dropped after the hype wore off. In addition to hype for other talent skyrocketing.

That's what I inferred anyway, haha.

ETA* I meant to say inverse, not adverse.

So inaccurate as far as where he got drafted but more accurate in the type of talent he was.
Is that what your saying?

No, the point is that the early mocks are better at predicting success, not predicting draft position. So early mocks had Verse going at the top, but he fell in later mocks. Results showed that the early mocks were right, Verse should have been drafted earlier.

No, I was stating that the inverse was still accurate. Also, O said adverse, I meant inverse because I'm an idiot.

Also, f$#% all this Rams talk, lol.
