Bookend games with the 49ers would have been much sweeter last season…NFL always be dropping the ball with this team it seems.

Nah, play the schedule that's in front of you. We're not victims here. Still kind of dumb to have game 1 and game 17 against the same team, but..........meh.

As an aside, I wonder why we aren't playing the Raiders this year? I get playing the Steelers with DK in week 3, but no Raiders with PC and GeNOO? Weird.

It's not weird.

The opponents are pre-determined with a specific rotation. You can see your opponents for the next several years with the only unknown being your finish in the division v the same finish in other divisions. They can't just change it.

For more info:

A formula determines each team’s opponents every year, and a rotating schedule ensures that every team plays each of the other 31 at least once in a four-year period.

Interesting. I was aware of that, but I thought they flexed them depending on the situation. I guess not.
