Trading back may indicate that JS wants to double dip at positions like interior OL, WR, LB, DB, etc. But with that said the Seahawks already have 10 picks and how much roster churn do they anticipate right now with the bottom of the roster?

Schneider is always looking to “trade back.” Every draft I assume Schneider wants to trade back. And every year Schneider pisses me off!!!
Not this year, he will trade up. We have too many picks as is, if we draft them all, we won't be able to sign them all. Trading up is the way to go.

Trading back wouldn't make sense if the compensation is tiny in this draft. True, the meat of this draft in terms of value is rounds 2-5 but JS already has 7 picks from rounds 2 through 5.

Seahawks OLine Spending

2020- 26.6M (26th)
2021- 26.9M (22nd)
2022- 23.5M (28th)
2023- 20.5M (30th)
2024- 21.1M (32th)

18 individual offensive linemen are set to have higher cap hits in 2025 than the entire Seahawks unit. (Please read again).

There are two paths I would take to fix the OLine. Anything less just mirrors our weak patch job attempts of the last several offseasons and likely won't be an upgrade at all.

Option A
1) Sign Jenkins for 12/13M per. Figure the contract out to fit but make sure he wants to play here. Plug him In at LG.
2) Draft Tyler Booker at 18, move up a little if you must. Right Guard for 10 years with a rare attitude.

Option B
Fill our RG spot with Jenkins, J. Jones, draft pick, Haynes... our best option.
Draft a versatile OL type like Grey Zabel, Wyatt Milum, there are a few options here. Plug our #18 pick in at LG and when Cross' contract comes up we may be able to slide him over to LT if needed.

I also favor packaging a 2nd or 3rd to move up from 18 if the right OL is there.
Unless you'd rather have 10 picks in which half or more bust.

I'll just say it. If John waits until the 2nd round to address the OLine we are probably screwed.
--All those mocks showing WR's, TE's. DB'S, ect. at 18. I really hope those are not the visions in John's head.

Stop this pathetic cycle and let's fix it.
So much is riding on it.
If we sign cross and Lucas to extensions we will have a much higher number. If Lucas doesn’t stay healthy this year not sure they even sign him. I think Olu will be much better this year. I like Lumea but Christian I’m not sold on. Unless he has a great offseason.
