These are PFF's rating on potential starters, we have more stars on defense. Offense are quite similar in player rankings. We finished 10-7, they were 4-13 (?). Which team will improve more this year?

Offense:
Both teams need IOL help, but they have more holes in WR and RB, which we are stacked in those areas.
Top players rated above 75:
Hawks: W9 (88.4), Cross (82.5), Darnold (80.7), JSN (81)
Raiders: Bower (85.1), Geno (82.7), Meyers (77.7), McCormick (76.1)
Seahawks:
1744668146303
Raiders:
1744667908031

Defense:
They have holes everywhere, badly need upgrades at CB, S and LB, Pete got his work cut out for him.
Seahawks: Big Cat (87.1), Love (81.2), Witherspoon (76.1)
Raiders: Roberts (79.7)
1744668288622

Raiders:
1744668024785

We have them easy. They have murders row in that division. Broncoes should improve, Chiefs with Chief, refs may thief. Chargers are not an easy out. They may win 2 of those division games.
I expect they team will play hard for PC, and I expect them to do better here on out.

Although the Raiders are pumped and jacked they stink. And we are better coached with better adjustments and will be a legit contender long before the Raiders ever are.

Raiders paid Max Crosby a bazillion dollars. That's not how you build a winning roster. They still suck.

Raiders in full rebuild mode. They have a terrible roster and play in a tough division. They'll be lucky to be 2-4 in their division. If we end up with a worse record than the Raiders, it won't be because the Raiders were successful, it will only be because the Seahawks had a complete collapse due to multiple injuries or something like that.

Raiders are trash and Geno Smith isn't changing that. They won 4 games last year, if I'm on a team in that division...I forget they even exist. Non-factors.
Geno Smith is going to make a huge difference in W-L. Raiders Qb play last year was probably 32 overall. They were terrible. They are not going to make the playoffs but should be vastly improved

Pete will get a couple extra wins out of that team. He'll will them to their ceiling, which is about 7-8 wins. We should be looking at 11+.

above .5? That would be playoff territory, wouldn't it?

9-8 is unlikely to make the playoffs unless you win a really bad division. I very much doubt 9 wins will be good enough to win the AFC West.

We were 10-7 and didn't make the playoffs, although every other team with 10 or more wins did.

So 1 game above .500 is probably not playoff territory. Any better than that probably is, but maybe not.

That said, going from 4 wins to 10 wins is going to be very difficult and seems awfully unlikely to me for that Raiders team.
