We had a good chance to win when we stopped them with a sack, that turned into a penalty that gave them a first down which led to a TD. Without that result we almost certainly win. Assuming we don't turn it over...
I thought we were gonna win. We looked better but man mistakes all the way through the game and then Geno, “have you seen my baseball?”

Yeah, there was two big gaffes by the defense. That facemask that would have been a stop. And Tre Brown lining up off sides that would have been a stop. Then Tre Brown gets beat for the TD.

Also, some offensive penalties that stunted drives. Refusing to run the ball. And of course the Geno turnovers.

So, enough blame to go around.

dump geno smith now he is the back up to the back up
Geno had just led a very nice 4th quarter game-winning drive with 4-ish minutes to go. That was very clutch.

Then the defense makes egregious mistakes and can't stop the Vikings to hold the lead. Then Geno fails to work AF miracles with under a minute left and 90 yards to go. Totally unrealistic ask, and Geno gets ripped by fans for a pick that is on DK's sloppy route running? Geno takes the blame for Murphy II making a horrible rookie mistake with a facemask on a sack? Geno takes the blame for Woolen and Love totally screwing up on the Jefferson game-winning 40 yard TD pass? Geno takes the blame for a refs missed call on that play on a a facemask/hands to the face? (I didn't see it but many did)

If the D stops the Vikings, Hawks win, we're all hailing Geno as a hero.

Definitely. If all those things that didn't go Geno's way went Geno's way, and he hadn't made all those other dumb throws that probably left points on the board, and factoring in that those dropped INTs weren't Geno's fault for reasons I'm sure other people will figure out and let us know, and everyone else had played better, and more of the home fans showed up, and the sun wasn't in Geno's eyes, and we had just given the ball to Marshawn, then everyone is calling Geno a bigger hero than Guitar Hero and he's the MVP frontrunner, causing Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson to commit sudoku in shame.

Hypothetically, Geno won that game even harder than Alabama and Ole Miss won the College Football Playoff.

The Vikings built a very good team around Darnold. Seahawks organization needs to be taking notes.
They built the team around Cousins, then shipped him out for JJ and brought in interim QB (Darnold), as a bridge between Cousins and McCarthy, who happened to be better than expected.

There are some really good points here. The Murphy facemask penalty was more of a killer than Geno's pick. They had them at a 3rd and long with the lead and a chance to get off the field and kill the clock and Byron grabs Darnold's facemask. Huge mistake.

Nah Geno played really well most of the game but made some terrible mistakes that you don’t expect your 13 year vet to make. Taking the sack before the long field goal was so bad that I had to rewatch it to believe it. He has to know the situation there and he flat out forgot. Any veteran QB throws that away because the points were crucial there.

The first pick was terrible too.

That’s Geno though. Plays his ass off but seems to make a couple of errors that are unexplainable.

How was it a game winning drive? They lost.

Did any of you guys watch Josh Allen 16/29 154 yds (28.7QBR/67.3RTG) stink it up at home against the lowly Patriots yesterday? I'm not saying Geno is Josh Allen, my point is even good QB's can have bad days against bad opponents. Geno had a mixed day 31/43 for 314 yds (60.7QBR/96.5RTG) against a good opponent.

Matt Stafford vs Jets 14/19 for 110yds (47.2QBR/83.2RTG)

Except for the fact that Stafford and Allen are winners and have been for years. And are both better than gePICK
geNOT isn't even close to Josh Allen. Not in the same league.
Geno lovers can cling to stats, I'll go ahead and cling to wins, losses and what my eyes tell me. He continues to hurt this team. He's lucky he didn't have 5 picks yesterday.

I wish it was that easy. The NFL doesn't work in we should have got that guy etc. There was less than zero chance they could get Stroud.

But Allen doesn't make back breaking mistakes every week. Geno is averaging a pick a week, leads the league in red zone picks, has multiple in his own red zone too that give the other team instant points, is bottom 3 in touchdowns for every day starters and top 3 for every day starters in interceptions.

His sack before the long field goal just can't happen for a 12 year vet. How he didn't know the situation there is baffling. His first pick was unexplanable and he should've had at least 3.

He also had two great drives. That is the issue with Geno, he plays his ass off most of the time but his mistakes don't ever seem to get better. A couple of posters love to blame the line but the line was fine yesterday. I said a week ago that I don't think the line has a ton to do with his mistakes and last night seemed to prove that point.

As I said, not trying to suggest Geno is in their league, just pointing out that even good QB's can stink sometimes. CJ Stroud didn't have a good day yesterday either.

Measuring a QB by wins and losses is not a reasonable method, go ask Joe Burrow. Dude is killing it but his defense is finding ways to lose games this season.

If you're going to crucify Geno for that 2nd pick you better do the same for Murphy' on that facemask penalty.

Geno's dart to DK for the first TD was a thing of beauty. So he had a mixed day. That's gonna happen with teams like the Vikings.

Have you watched Goff play?? He turtles just about every game.
