Hopefully it's not serious but if it is this team is done.
Maybe so but he is still a lot better than Howell.Geno wasn't going to lead us anywhere either. Had another one of his vintage red zone series where he followed up a near turnover with an actual turnover. Today should have given us concern that "The Death Zone" won't be able to bail him out against good teams.
If Geno isn't the answer anyways, just start Howell the rest of the year and see what happens. And if he doesn't show signs of improvement we need to start over at QB. Or we can chance limping into the playoffs with Geno, get wrecked, and do the same shit again next year.Maybe so but he is still a lot better than Howell.
The hell is this.Geno injury?
Question, have you noticed that Geno freaks out when he gets hit often and any injury is for him a huge thing? For him the hits freak him out and he becomes head case Gee-No. I truly hope for him he’s not hurt seriously. For the team I hope he’s not hurt seriously as as our #2 is for sure not ready to be a #1.
For Geno he needs a clean pocket but even then he has no legit internal clock that tells him when to get rid of the ball.
OTOH it I should be undisputed he has a great arm and he can be elite occasionally, and throws a great long ball but he is a head case in the redzone. I haven’t checked but he has to have one of the worst redzone turnover rates in the NFL which to me are a symptom of him being freaked out, spazzed out by the situation. I truly believe he could be a great QB but he has trouble at times raising his game to become a top level QB. The trouble is in his head and not with his ability.
The upcoming game against Minnie will undoubtedly be a tough game. They are better team than the Packers with a ferocious pass rush. ADon’t know yet if Geno reverts to form and he either will hide behind his ‘injury‘ and he won’t show up to be revealed again or if he will show up and be the elite QB we see occasionally. Truly he didn’t play well tonight but then again neither did the rest of the team with a few rare exceptions. I don’t know how legitimately injured he is but he once again revealed himself again tonight, Geno the head case.
For him I genuinely hope this isn’t a serious injury but I do know he could be special if he could get his head straight. Just don’t know if that will ever happen to allow his real talent to be fully revealed. Not sure the team will stick with him long enough for that to happen.
By nature I prefer to be a positive person but truly there is something missing with this player.and it isn’t his physical skill. I really would love to be proved wrong as heck. his incredible inconsistency is hard to watch without comment.
Truly hope he isn’t seriously hurt.
The problem is quality OCs and QBs are not eavy to get.I think the question should be: Is 9-8… good enough? That’s where Hawks have been. Not totally blaming Geno, but QB and OC are targets that are holding this team back.
I'd like to see Howell play.If Geno isn't the answer anyways, just start Howell the rest of the year and see what happens. And if he doesn't show signs of improvement we need to start over at QB. Or we can chance limping into the playoffs with Geno, get wrecked, and do the same shit again next year.

Geno is roughly the 15th best QB in the world, the majority of eople on this board were pushing for Pete and his coaching staff to go for at least 5 years and were generally delighted at the choice of MM and Grubb but alas the team is no better.
I haven't seen Howell in training I don't know if he has developed or in developing into a starting QB (though his snaps against the Packers doesn't look good), just about everyone though us starting Geno after RW3 left was an attempt to get the No1 overall pick in a strong draft class for QBs.
Yes I want the team to improve but the Giants showed that any team that makes the playoffs has a chance of winning the SB. Our choices for a Geno Replacement are:
Maybe 9-8 with the hope of a slight improvement to 10-7 or 11-6 is good enough. The hope of a surprise play-off run is possibly higher than the chance of finding the next Mahomes in the draft and it avoids the anguish of having a truly terrible team.
- Get who we think is the best available in the draft, the majority of these don't work out so we will be probably drafting every year until we find one and consistently getting around 5 wins a season. The Jets, Browns and Broncos have been doing this (the Bronco's might finally have found a QB that can get them in the playoffs and may or may not be able to challenge in a couple of years the Jets and Browns gave up for approach 3)
- Find one in free agency, there is a reason QBs enter free agency, they are rarely better than Geno and if they are they are demanding a salary that their previous team are unwilling to cap to get one of these. This season the cupboard is particularly bare, The Vikings may let Darnold go if he wants more than $30-$35m p.a. but he has been very similar 2022 Geno and there is no guaranteed he will not revert to mean a bit r not adapt to our play style. Next FA QB is probably Winston!
- Trade the farm to get a quality QB, these are rarely good value and there is usually a reason the team is selling, RW3, Rodgers and Watson are the obvious recent examples.
Of course Geno wont last forever so we need to be looking for a developmental QB as a replacement whether that is Howell (now looking unlikely) or a draft pick. Many of the best QBs spent a year or two as back-up to develop their game (e.g. Brady and Mahomes)
Howell was way less ready than Geno to deal with the crap O-Line play and lack of time to throw.Sam Howell looked barely ready to play some Xbox. No way we can depend on that from our backup.
I disagree, our trenches is whats holding this team back. All this talent at the skill positions and we can't score? You can bring in the latest and greatest thing at QB put him behind this OLine, and guarentee you'll get the same thing.I think the question should be: Is 9-8… good enough? That’s where Hawks have been. Not totally blaming Geno, but QB and OC are targets that are holding this team back.
From what I saw of Geno's injury play I would guess we very well may see what else Howell has in store for us. I sure hope he can get enough reps to eliminate that deer in the headlights fear that overwhelmed him last night. I previously expected his experience in Washington would have prepared him for that but it obviously did not. His sense of timing was non existent. Despite all that I suspect he might be at least as good in the red zone as what we have been enduring.Howell was terrible but I watched enough from last year to know he has talent. I think a game plan built around him and a week knowing he’s the starter I think would give us a better idea.
Geno threw two balls that should’ve been picked in the end zone. No clue what he’s thinking when he gets down in that area.
I don’t have any faith that Howell is better than Geno but if he has to go for a couple weeks curious to see how he does
